No, he was actually right. In another thread you said you have a "9C9A", here you said yours the same as Jessica's. Well this is kind of interesting since it matters what panel type is the defective one IF its a screen issue what I strongly believe.

I know but look above I wrote MY son's on the title line, I bought both the same day from the Apple Store, I really am puzzled now?

Every one needed to use the terminal , as My son's and mine are the same using that??

Now I am confused?

Now I'm just confused.

Who has the v1 panel? I think we can all agree all of them are AU Optronics (which explains the superior screen to the MB), but which Model identifier found in colorsync is the v1 panel?

Here's what I think I've found thus far:
  • 9C9A = AU Optronics B133EW03 V0
  • 9C89 = AU Optronics B133EW03 V0
  • 9C90 = AU Optronics B133EW03 V2

iFixit claims to have a v1 panel, but is it the 9C9A, 9C89, or 9C90?
And FTR, Ironic, in all his infinate "buy a MB Air" fandom, has remained consistent in his statements that both he and his son both have rev B MB Airs with SSDs. So it is easy to get his statements mixed up if you gloss over the indication that he is speaking about his son's machine or his own.

Yes , I fixed that, so even now we both have the same panel as you Jessica, according to the terminal.

Both are the same all but the screenshots I posted.

^^ No we don't. I have V2 you have V0. You do have two v0's baring two different model numbers from what I understand.

Edit: Looks like ashowkati and I have the same panels but I haven't any lines. To the best of my knowledge and my very old eyes.

Let's play FIFA 2009 PS3
WTF?

Well, I certainly wasn't attempting to contribute to the line theorem. I do not think the panel itself is causing lines. I believe there's some interference somewhere. That's all. I thought we were just trying to see what panels the new Airs were using ... it seemed like the geeky thing to do.

Also, I'm under the impression the lines; their visibility, is purely subjective in some instances. We have a lot of claims and few photos. For those who have ponied up proof I still stand on my interference notion.

I have to agree with you we only have 1 photo of the problem and many people claiming, love to see more pics.

Trust me, I do review notebooks for a large journal over here in Europe: there are lines. I havent seen them on any other laptop yet although there are reports. But I did review a rev.A as well and it was crystal clear (but hot as lava). The fact that cameras might not catch the defect properly is not evidence against the problem. And it's a hardware problem, its the coating because the lines are not pixel related and thats what they would be f it was an electrical interference problem or a driver issue. In fact its most likely a problem with optical interference due to the display surface.

And yes this thread was indeed meant to check if the other display models might not have the issue.

I do think the lines are there however its not as wide spread as they seem to think.

No lines. The test image that was posted here is flickering, but in regular use I cannot perceive anything unusual.

It's probably either the coating on the protective layer or some interference but I'm guessing that the horizontal lines aren't from the underlying LCD panel itself. I put my face as close as I could to the screen and the LCD pixel layer itself looks perfect. It's just that layer above the pixels that has the weird problem.

Could this be a Euro vs. US vs. ? problem? Are the lines, along with the 4-finger touch (said to be software related, to an older revision of OS X) affecting those primarily across the pond?

Just a thought.

If you read these threads it's widespread throughout North America also. I'm on my 3rd one with no correlation to 4 finger swipes.
