Its a ten year old car so doesn't have the technology in it to autoatically detect condensation on the windows. My wife has an EV and you can pre-set the temp which is great. If you forget to do that though, youre still pressing buttons to adjust temp and fan speed, that if the infotainment hasn't decided to reboot 4 minutes down the road like it sometimes does. One of the musts for our new car will be physical buttons for certain operations and its good to see manufacturers mostly keeping these as standard.Why didn't the UI automatically get rid of the misting/fogging up windows on its own?
I personally think the OS/UI should be aware enough to adapt so that you don't need to actually physically press the buttons yourself. I'm not arguing if there should or shouldn't be physical buttons, but that the vehicle OS/UI should be smart enough to resolve these issues without requiring driver input.
So, adding CarPlay should not be the end all for the development of a good user experience. Especially with the prices of vehicles these days...
