I’m on the upgrade program. Don’t think you can pay it off like that. The whole point of the upgrade program is so that people keep buying Apple phones while not needing to pay upfront.

yeah, that's what I figured. I may still do it. At least for one year. So if I get the plus and love it, I will just pay it off and own it or if I am not a fan of it, I can swap it out in a year and once I find a phone I love, I will just pay it off.

That’s a good idea. I’ve generally been an iOS user for years now and probably even this year I’ll go with Apple so the upgrade program helps in that sense.

Only thing is I have been collecting apple gift cards for a while to cover MBP and IPhone so I will have to cut back since I will not be able to use the apple gift cards for the phone anymore :/

Well, depends on how much of that you’ve got. Might be useful to calculate.

Well, I doubt I can pay for the Iphone monthly with apple gift cards. I think I have enough for the phone, but also may be enough for MBP. Regardless, I will just stop with the gift cards unless I can somehow use Apple cards to pay for them.

Don’t think there’s any such option to be honest.

If you're buying an iPhone directly from Apple's website in full value, you can use gift cards. You only are allowed to use eight gift cards total towards the purchase.

Wow! Only 8? hmm.. So if I buy a MacBook pro and have more than 8.. I cannot use them all? There has to be a way around that!

I could go in a week earlier, buy something like headphones, use the smaller gift cards, return the headphones and they will give me just one credit... That should work.. right?

Or just sell all gift cards with a euro or similar discount

I have it. To me, the hardware is the most "fine tuned" iPhone available right now. iPhone X has some more advanced features, but the iPhone 8 is solid physically, has a great camera and battery, big screen, loud speakers, wireless charging, etc. I intended to only own this phone until the Xs (or whatever they call it) was released, but I may end up keeping this device for the full two years. I may spend money this year upgrading my iPad instead (one IOS device a year).

Biggest thing (to me) about the 8 Plus is that it’s a super heavy phone and after a while that becomes obvious and tiring to hold.

Right. If it's not the heaviest smartphone currently on the market, I'd be shocked. And I wouldn't want to carry the one that is.
