I am upgrading on Saturday - from a 16GB 3G to a 32GB 3GS. I can't wait! I'm most excited about the bigger disk and the faster processor. Video may come in handy too...

I'm still using my 2g, my plan ended last feb... ATT has been trying to get me to upgrade monthly with sweet deals... I'm waiting till June/July for the next version. 3G isn't really a strong selling point because I can't access it in Northern MN. But faster is good, more ram etc... So, I'll upgrade then

I'm sure there are quite a bit of people who don't own the 3GS. I still have my 3G since the 3GS was not a significant "upgrade."

I still have my 3G. There was not enough of a difference for me to get the 3GS. I will get the next iteration, in part because I will be due for an upgrade.

This. There's no point (to me) in upgrading a $500.00 device every year if I don't need to.

Exactly. I got my iPhone 3G on launch day and am due for an upgrade March 12, 2010 so it was really no choice but to wait for March anyways and March is so close to June that it would definitely be worth it to wait a few more months for the Fourth Generation. I think, as everyone as has stated, the 3GS was not worth it. I jailbroke my 3G and have all the features I want that are on the 3GS, except faster processor but that's not worth the $500 upgrade. I think once June rolls around, everyone that held onto their iPhone 3G will not be disappointed. Those, however that buy it between now and June will probably be very disappointed they didn't just wait with their 3G.

Still on original 2G. 2 year contract up in January so figured might as well wait for the next phone and see if Verizon carries it. If not, re-up with at&t for 2 more years.

For 1st Gen iPhone owners, it was a worthy upgrade. 3G (7.2Mb/s v EDGE 256Kb/s), faster CPU, more RAM, better GPU, GPS, Compass, better camera, MMS... lots of goodies.

I bought a 3GS about 10 days ago. Returned it yesterday and went back to my 2G.

I thought with the 3GS once I'd used it I'd pick up the 2G and be like "urgh this is unusable" but I barely noticed a difference. Especially since where I get the biggest lags is opening Settings and Messages. Since I have SBSettings and BiteSMS with quick compose I never actually open those apps.

And as it turned out I barely used the 3G internet or GPS so while the 3GS is nice, it basically felt like exactly the same phone. I know, I was surprised too :( Waiting for the 4G to hopefully offer something a bit different. New OS, bigger screen etc

when was this?

has anyone with the 3gs jailbroken there iphone?

The first thing I did was jailbreak mine. It was a tethered jailbreak though.

I haven't updated yet to the 3gs, I am waiting for the 4th generation. I am currently a grad student so I have to wait for significant updates

I bought a 3GS a while ago, returned it 3 times for problems and the 3rd time was returned altogether. I didn't like the build quality and the screen of the 3 3GS's I had and my iPhone 3G is built better. (Yes, I know they're supposed to be the same, but I had to swap 4 3G's before getting a perfect 3G as well).

Sometimes I get so sick of Apple and their crap. I've always been into Apple stuff, and an avid Mac user, but lately, Apple's quality has really been terrible.

the 4g . it's on the macrumors do a search for it... they blocked the hole on the next revision that allowed the jailbreak to happen...

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Cause... you know... everyone has a 4G already.

Exactly the same situation. The 3GS has a few advantages, but not enough for me the make the jump. Waiting until my contract expires, and by that time, the new iPhone revision should be right around the corner.
