I got mine on launch day and have been using it daily since then. I have taken it on a week long trip as well as to work every day. I love the portability and the quality of screen for media (came from an iPad 6).

I watch TV in bed on it at night while the wife goes to bed early. So far I can say that I love it and it's a great iPad experience in a smaller form factor.

I'm not a power user, but it does well for what I need it for - media consumption and reading mostly.

Still enjoying mine. I’m going to try and a read a book on there and see how I go. I can switch back to my kindle oasis if I find it too offensive.
It's hard to beat the Kindle Oasis for reading books. I use my Oasis for focused reading, but have been using my Mini for out-and-about reading, newspaper reading (for which the Mini really shines, IMO), etc. I'm finding that I'm a lot more likely to have my Mini with me than my Oasis, and it's still pretty good for that -- just not as good. Of course, it's better for illustrated books, cookbooks, etc.

I have an iPad Pro 12.9. (2020) -clad in a magic keyboard- as my daily workhorse, and I love it.

I also have an iPhone 13 Pro.

I absolutely love the size and form factor of my Mini 6 and I mostly take it with me wherever I am heading, be it wandering around my house or out in car etc.

I have used it religiously in bed since I received it as it is so well balanced and sized for light browsing and reading (Books, Kindle, Readily).

But what do I think it is lacking… I mentioned having an iPad Pro and iPhone Pro, the reason being that they both have ProMotion and the Mini 6 does stand out in comparison by not having it.

I hope Apple introduce ProMotion to the Mini, perhaps a Mini Pro with smart connector and a Magic keyboard!

Is the UI somehow smaller than the 7.9” mini? Everything looks great to me on my 5th generation mini.
Nope it is exactly the same size. iPadOS 15 is really not good though, and this goes for all iPads, because they leave this huge blank border around the edges and cramp everything into the middle of the screen, It is really bad news.

I think most of these comments are actually comments against iPadOS 15 and not the mini itself. It is just more pronounced on the mini - that and probably also most of these are people that haven’t used or owned a mini before this.

After a couple days of use with the mini, the UI elements on the 11 and 12.9” Pros looks grotesquely huge! ?

The black smart folio is some kind of gross oil magnet. Impossible to look clean for more than a day. Oddly enough the white one doesn’t have the same problem. The feel of the material is slightly different.

Yes I bought both and am a direct reason for the shortage.

Im enjoying mine.

Sold my ipad pro 11 m1. I prefer a more portable ipad.
I gave my mini 5 to my son for his online class.
Me too.
Love the size and it’s perfect for my needs.

I have MacBook Air M1 and had a iPad Pro 11.
Sold the Pro after getting the Mini 6 because I hadn’t used it at all for several weeks.

Same here, sold my 12.9 inch 2020 Pro to buy the mini and I don´t regret it a bit. I´ve used the mini every day since I have it, the pro was only used 1-2 times a week, because of its size. The mini is exactly the device which I needed! :)

I did the exact same thing for the same reasons - traded in my '20 12.9" Pro to buy the Mini 6. The pro was only used as a desktop device, much too big to lug around and use as a portable consumption device. My 11" pro I gave to my wife when I got the 12.9" pro, was still too big for easy casual use, better on a table too.

I have an iMac I use for desktop stuff and the pro was redundant to that. I bought the pro to use as a portable laptop computer with the keyboard case but with the change to mostly stay at home had no need for it. The Mini is perfect. I can use it in bed or just lounging around the house. Don't need it for lots of typing. I cannot see the display issues others report, lucky or poor eyesight, either way I can't see it so am very pleased.

i was able to snag a 256 cellular space gray from my local apple store and canceled my order. I’m really enjoying this little thing. It’s not totally replacing my 12 inch iPad Probut it’s taking a back seat. It’s a great size for laying in bed on the couch or taking with me when I know I’ll have time to kill. I do notice the jelly effect but doesn’t really bother me. I only notice if I, scrolling really quick.

I don’t understand how people are vacillating between an 11” iPad Pro and the Mini (any of them)

They are so wildly different in how you use them comfortably, portability, ideal use cases on and on.

Other than both being “iPads” they aren’t similar devices at all.

It is like going between a phone book and a paperback novel

I can shed some insight. For me personally, for what I do on an iPad I should have gotten an 11 inch pro or at least an Air, but I really wanted something very compact for travel. I basically had to choose between doing a bunch of my graphics stuff on my iPad and getting a larger one, or just biting the bullet and getting something small for travel.

I chose the latter since I don't have a lot of free time anymore to do my graphics stuff (and if I want to do graphic stuff I have my main computer for that). So far it's worked out pretty well.

I actually sold my iPad Pro. The Mini 6 (which I also snagged in 256gb cellular space gray from my local Apple store - waiting for delivery is for suckers) does it all. While I appreciate the Pros for their ability to act as laptops too, with Magic Keyboards, I have a Surface Pro 8 for the heavy duty stuff. The iPad Mini is a great consumption device that you can literally stick in a large coat pocket.

I have the 2021 12.9, Mini 6 and Surface Pro 7 (16GB i7). I'd have to say that the 12.9 is really the most superfluous of the group - I can do everything and more on the SP7 than I do with the 12.9 but the display on the 12.9 is just so good for video and reading that I can't part with it. The Mini 6 is the perfect ultra-portable device.
