As the title says, I can’t wait for larger Apple Watch S8. Possibly 49mm. That would be dream as my wrists are enormous and 45mm looks like a toy. I really hope Apple gives us this third size in the fall. That way there would be size for everyone. Kids and adults. Tim, make it happen please!!

Are you 7ft tall? There’s a difference between wanting a large watch and a large watch that looks good.
Not 7 ft but 6’4”. 45mm is comically small for me. Also, the larger the screen is the more space will be for content, more complications, etc. Also hopping for more battery life.

I was watching GMA and there were some football players doing a bbq contest but what stood out to me the most was how dainty their apple watches looked on their big arms! I’m crossing my fingers for you! 🤞🏾

It certainly doesn’t look comically small from that picture. It looks like the 41mm does on my wrist but I prefer a watch to look like a watch and not a big screen. We all have different tastes.

I think it is totally in line with how watches looked pre-Apple watch, but most of us have gotten used to the look of bigger sizes now, so that it does look pretty small in relation to the “modern” look.

I wear a 45 on my 145mm wrist, which I’m sure looks too big to some, but my eyes are terrible and need the biggest text size I can get, so I don’t care.

Im actually thinking of selling my AW7SS 45MM, just because how useless it has become. Like all the Apple Watches they have become useless to me over time.

I have turned off all health features, now I only use it to check what time it is.

Why I keep buying Apple Watches if theyre useless? I dont know.

Yes, the older I get the bigger text size I need. Also, the battery can be bigger in larger case. Kind of like how iPhone mini has way less battery life than pro max. I know it is not for everyone but I wish they would bring the larger size as a third option.

As an Apple shareholder I appreciate your poor decision making skills :)

It would look too big to me but it’s your watch so it doesn’t matter. Not sure what the modern look is to be honest? Smartwatch trends are very different to watches in general I’ve found. People often put functionality before aesthetics but I like to satisfy both. We’re all different.

I see your dilemma.

However, Apple usually caters to the masses and I'm guessing the majority of people don't have massive wrist sizes like you.

They've bumped up AW sizes incrementally...so maybe a 47mm? Or if not for the regular AW8, perhaps it'll be larger on the rumoured rugged model version.

Today I’m rocking the 40mm on my 175mm wrist, and like you, I don’t care. ?

Yes, I am probably in the minority but I wonder if it is same as when they went from iPhone 4 to 5,6, etc. at the beginning everyone was outraged but know nobody would buy 3.5 inch screen size. Even IPhone 13 mini is not selling good. There is a hope for me in the future. Maybe that rugged XL Expedition model is coming.

49mm? No, let's not go any higher than 46mm, and that's pushing it.
No. I am not saying to replace existing 45mm with larger one. I am saying to make a third size. So 3 different sizes. 41, 45, and 49mm

Why do you need 49mm? This is a watch, not a phone.
Many reasons:
My arm is huge
The larger the watch the larger the battery you can fit
Larger screen will create opportunities for better apps. Better apps will sell more watches as it will be more useful
My eyes are getting worse so anything larger is better

Also this a computer not just a watch. Time is just one of hundreds of things Apple Watch can do. If you just need time you can get Casio, Rolex, etc. Also, the logic “this is a watch not a phone” can be applied to iPhones. Like “who needs more than one line of screen real estate? This is a phone to call people and if you need larger screen get a computer”. Same logic.

Valid points, but what's to say you don't back later asking for a 55mm watch?

Well, I can ask for whatever I want. It’s not like Apple is gonna listen to me. They will do whatever it brings them most money. I think they could make a third larger option and charge $50-$100 premium and it will have customers.
Garmin makes their Fénix line in 3 sizes: 42, 47, and 51mm. So everyone can choose what they like. Apple was stubbornly stuck with 3.5 inch screen for iPhones while Samsung was producing 5+ inch screens in their phones. We all know how that turned out.

At the time 3.5" was a big screen. Also, Samsung did that not because they had any indications it would work, but because they wanted a selling point. "Look at this new Android phone with BIGGER screen"

It did work out.
