I've got "You're the voice" attached to memories of when I visited the isle of Mull (best place I've ever been, magical it is). Probably should play more of his other stuff but I really, really do like that track.

He did that awful dream sequence scene on Home and Away where he sang to "little Sal".

And after ageing myself so obviously, I'll get my coat :p

Never heard of the guy, but forget that. The REAL question is...

Why the hell were you watching that American Idol drivel?

Why should Americans know or care about an English-born Australian singer who is almost 60 years old? And one with little chart success over there?

You know, just saying... :D

LOL Apart from touring with the likes of Stevie Nicks and Tom Jones, John Farnham had a string of number one hits throughout his long career and several number one albums. Just because he wasn't "commercially American" doesn't make him any less talented or relevant to the music industry. I understand the current big hit in American Idol is an Aussie

Not in the US. And I'm not American. ;)

Your'e right just what am I doing watching American Idol?? Well my wife got to know about the Aussie guy and so now most of Australia are hooked, rooting for him. I can't stand idol though and don't normally watch the Aussie show let alone the American one.

It is very easy watching and I have to say entertaining.

I like Simon Cowell, he is the only one who's honest, even if its brutal. He does know what he's talking about as he also does the X Factor in the Uk and the 2006 UK winner Leona Lewis (the first British woman in 20 years) is just about to go to number 1 in the US-and Cowell is her manager.

Her debut album is the fastest selling debut in UK history (overtaking my beloved oasis Definetly Maybe which is in my opinion still the best album of all time)

Its still a great album and she is a class act
