Totally agree here - good at different things although if the iPhone battery could come close to the BB 9700 I'd probably veer towards the iPhone. I use both too.

Yep. That's why I'm kinda praying for the fourth generation iPhone to have better power management. I like having both devices for now and they compliment each other rather than competing. But there's a possibility I'll ditch both when the fourth generation will land on July. I'll probably go to rehab and have BBM withdrawals. Then again, if RIM releases another miracle gadget like the 9700 (with the rumored new BB OS) later this year, the iPhone might find itself having a spouse again. :D

Day 2 of BB 9700: Battery life is really good. It feels good in my hand. I can't type as fast on it as I do my iPhone. If you know how to tweak the BB, then it'll be much better. I have .442 on my 9700. I downloaded the leak version of it. I just applied themes on it, looks better. BBM is really good. The speaker phone is really loud. Call quality on the Blackberry was better, in my area.

Of course the iPhone wins in browsing and multimedia.

I am going to test out the multimedia aspects of the 9700 tomorrow. Just maybe I'll be able to keep the 9700 for four months and sell my 3GS. Day 5, I'll decide.

download opera mini 5 beta, it'll make the browsing experience more bearable. :)

Its not letting me download it for some reason. It allowed me to download Bolt though. I went to the Opera website and everything.

I have this little trick when I have download problems that works most of the time. I use Docs2Go. Using my computer, I paste the download link in a word document and copy that file in my memory card. Then using the phone, navigate to the file, open the doc and click on the link. Hope it works with Opera. Also, try downloading another Opera Mini version if that'll work. I'm using the newest beta version and it's awesome.

Good luck!

edit: Just in case this was the problem, don't use Bolt when going to the Opera link. Use the BB default browser.

not sure if opera fixed it but when they released beta 2 for om5 the site was forcing people with 9000/9700 to download the storm 2 version so the soft keys didn't work. heres the correct version, your gonna have to install it via DM but it should work perfectly!

what comes to mind when I am reading this topic is do you guys love the iPhone or the iPod Touch in the iPhone?, as most of you said the phone bit in the iPhone can be a bit cr@ppy at times,
what you could do is just share the wifi from the BB or any other phone (if you need the 3G) and an ipod touch would be a very capable replacement for the iphone then but you dont then compromise on the phone
