I have visions of a long return line if the 3g ships early.

So pretend it is shipping at the same time, would you have ordered it instead? Will you be exchanging it?

We have one of each coming, and the wifi one wasn't ever considered to become a 3g version (it's for a teen), so my purchases stay the same. Except the wifi one in the house did/does at least give me one to play with while waiting! Lol!

Anyway, still hoping they do indeed ship early!!

Not to stomp on your dreams ma'am, but I very much doubt that 3G models will even ship in April. They might just be delayed till early May (Cross your fingers and hope not!)

Not I, I never intended on getting a 3G version. I have my MiFi with a cheaper unlimited plan.

I think the ones that might be upset would be the same people that only ordered the WiFi because they didn't want to wait.

Wouldn't matter to me - if I wanted/needed the 3G model, I would have ordered one no matter when they were available. Of course, if I had ordered one, earlier shipping is MUCH better than later. ;)

I ordered a 32GB Wifi only iPad only because I didn't want to have to wait for the 3G model. So yes, I would be a little upset if it did end up shipping early and I would be returning it to get the 64GB 3G model.

You think this because???? Curious.....

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have stated late April if they didn't think they could meet it.

They have a hold on my funds... If it posts tonight ad a charge, well, they better be shipping it since they state that they won't charge till they ship. I think they could get in some nasty trouble over that....

My mum got a 64GB WiFi, dad and I will get to play with it when it gets here and then we'll both get 64GB 3G models later.

3G has no appeal for me. I see the iPad as a portable device within the house not something I'll take to the mall or a restaurant. That's my iPhone.

Same here. I'll take it to work where there's free wifi. I'll use it at home where I have wifi. Right there is a majority of where my time is spent anyway. When I go out at night or on the weekends, I'm not gonna drag an ipad along with me.

At first I thought I wanted a 3G model, then realized that I won't be whipping out my iPad anyplace that doesn't have wifi to begin with. It was a happy realization because it saves me money and it will be available to me earlier than 3G. :)

Can you tell us which Mifi plan you have? Looking at options here, personally...

In the very unlikely event it arrives early and you find yourself ticked off, you're a complete muppet and a victim of your own impatience. If you want a WiFi, buy it. If you want a 3G, wait. We're not 10 year olds.....are we?

It's not shipping the same day. Or even week. If Apple had a ship date they'd announce it. They learned not to pull punches with the whole iPhone pricing debacle. I wouldn't expect the 3G model to ship until after April 15.

It's worse, we're Apple addicts.

True, heh, and I'd consider myself one (but at the less extreme end). However, I consider blowing your load on a WiFi when you really want a 3G utterly moronic. You could sell the WiFi on I suppose but that's an unnecessary hassle imo.

Is this through Verizon? I didn't think any companies that offered the MiFi had unlimited plans.

Through Sprint. The regular 3G/EVDO plan is capped at 5GB, but employee plans are not and neither are WiMAX plans.

I have a 10yo who wants an ipad in the worst way.... So ten and an apple addict is a very very ugly combo I live with daily! Lol!!

Personally, I would never have ordered the wifi just to have it if inrealky wanted/needed the 3g version. I just know from reading some people have done just that, with the intent that it's shipping 3 weeks later or so.

If that gap narrows, people are going to be ticked.

And some of us will be very happy!!!

If anyone gets ticked - the only person they can/should be ticked at is themselves. (not directed to you specifically, but you general) And if it was a question of being patience and ordering the wifi version vs the 3G so you could have it first - then again, blame yourself for being impatient.

Order what you "need" not what you "want"

Well, I think the wait has helped push me over to the WiFi, but I won't be ticked. I've decided at this moment of course that I really don't need the 3G. I'm 95% home, I have a 10 minute drive to work, and I travel maybe 2 or 3 times a year, and I'm always driving whenever we go somewhere. In a pinch I can tether to iPhone 3GS. So I think I've made a better choice by going 64GB Wifi instead of paying for something I'll barely use. Of course my opinion is bound to change :D I'm very psychotic.

I think you made a wise choice. So don't go psycho!!!

I can't rationalize buying the wifi only version at all.... unless i magically decided to go with the Verizon MIFI - and i'm not excited about doing that.

See, we both are comfy with our decisions!!!! :D

I think you meant tickled. You left out a letter. I know I would be, since I ordered the 3G.

If people are ordering an expensive item they don't want, because they don't want to wait 4 weeks or so for one they do want, well, that is a silly decision. Just wait for the 3G if that's what you really want. In a few months, no one will care whether you got your iPad in early April, late April, or May.
