Who will be ticked if the 3g version ships early?

In a few months, no one will care whether you got your iPad in early April, late April, or May.

This. Um. I don't know what to say other than - you shouldn't care what anyone else thinks about what you buy or when you bought it. Whether you get a 16gig wifi or 64gig 3G or no iPad at all. Buy what you want/need/etc with a total disregard of what others will think.

I will be very mad if they ship them at the same time. They should have said that all along if that was the case. I know I am not the only one that was swayed by the extra month wait. At first I was all for the Wifi one because most places have free Wifi anyway and I am at home most of the time. Also I didn't really want another monthly bill on top of my Verizon bill for my Droid. But the real deciding factor was the Wifi was coming out first. If I would have known the Wifi and 3G were coming out at the same time, I may have decided to suck it up and deal with the extra monthly bill.

My choice has always been the WiFi version regardless of the release dates

Whats weird is usually Apple does not charge your credit card until just maybe a few days or maybe a week in advance of the shipment. However I ordered the Wi-Fi + 3G version which is not suppose to ship until Late April or Early May. Then if that is the case why did they charge my charge my card tonight?

Does this mean that they are shipping early for a surprise?

No. They are just confirming if you are good for the funds.

I read in another post that someone talked to Apple and they said it was a glitch in their billing system and that it will be fixed. They said only Wifi preorders were supposed to be charged but all orders got charged. They confirmed that the 3G iPads aren't coming out until late April. Whew! Thank god, I was gonna be very mad.

My wifi order hasn't actually hit my list of charges - just the money is gone. I'm eagerly awaiting the actual charge - the kid is impossible to live with! LOL!!

I'll be getting the 3G version whenever it comes out. But I'm in no major hurry so a few days or a couple of weeks this way or that way won't make much difference.

Pre-ordered the 32GB 3G model. I'd be happy to see it sooner but I'm willing to wait!!

I have visions of a long return line if the 3g ships early.

So pretend it is shipping at the same time, would you have ordered it instead? Will you be exchanging it?

We have one of each coming, and the wifi one wasn't ever considered to become a 3g version (it's for a teen), so my purchases stay the same. Except the wifi one in the house did/does at least give me one to play with while waiting! Lol!

Anyway, still hoping they do indeed ship early!!

No I'd have still went with the wifi version, and if I wanted the 3G one I would've just waited for it.
