Bought the 2018 iPad to use until the new Pros are announced. I’ll most likely get an LTE version of one of those.

Did the same after I gave my first gen iPad 12.9 to my brother. Hoped that Apple release the third gen 12.9 at WWDC. After that did not happened I got me a used second gen 12.9. Could not live that long with the 2018 iPad till the next iPP‘s are released although there was nothing wrong with 2018 iPad except the size....

Holding out for the newest one. I find that I use my IPad exclusively. In fact, every time I bring out my MacBook Air, I always default back to my iPad. Just like the apps better. I do miss the Notes app, but not much else now that there is some form of split screens.

I wont be waiting.. I've just sold my Mini 4 today to contribute towards the funds.

Imo if you wait for the latest tech you'll always be waiting.

My mini 4 is 2 years old and still worked perfect so a year old Pro isn't going to be a POS.

One of the reason why it is taking its time might be because they want to ship it with A12. And honestly it should, it's an expansive top of the line piece of gear

I don’t think that’s the major reason. Every year processors will get more powerful than last year. So whatever is top of the line today, won’t be the next year.

I think at this point, Apple judges the user base and decides if an upgrade is necessary at all. I’m sure the processor bump is just standard in any model if there’s significant graphical performance enhancements, which has been the case in the last few generations.

So if A12 follows the same trend then they’ll just put it in the latest iPad Pro as standard.

I think they’re working on a redesign with less bezel and Face ID. That’s what they want to release as the major change for next generation.

Waiting on the new version... which will be my first ios device. Just not sure which size to choose ? I would have liked a 9.7 option, but it seems it's between 10.5 and 12.9.

I'm also considering an iPad, though I think for my purposes - music production - I'll need a Pro.

I do hope they release a new ipad pro this year - as i would like to upgrade from my old ipad 4th generation (which is really getting long in the tooth - battery at 50% capacity, slow as all get out, charging issues, and so on)

Same here . . . bought but waiting to see what the new ones are like. In any case, I'll be happy with the 10.5 iPad Pro I just bought, if the new ones aren't substantially different.

I love my 10.5, but I will likely upgrade when the new one comes out. It's my only computer so I see the value in the small upgrade price.

Even though the iPad Pro 10.5 isn't my main computer, I won't mind upgrading if it's worth it to me (new features).

I bought mine (10.5 LTE) 3 weeks ahead of the WWDC (I took the risk that they may have upgraded them then). I can honestly say that even if apple does some spectacular reset of the pros im still going to hang on to it for as long as the updates let me. The 10.5 is amazing all that could change is a slightly faster processor (which the one in the 10.5 now is blazing), less bezels (im over it as it doesn't really matter much on the X) and face ID (which i HATE on my X). Oh and an extra $200 upcharge..... You are essentially getting the same apps and IOS design across the board anyway.

Also waited for the Pro‘s at WWDC and gave away my 12.9 gen 1 in advance. After nothing happened I got me the 2018 iPad. Gave that away too because it was too small after getting used to the 12.9. Now I got me a used 12.9 gen 2 (but in very good condition with only 5 charge cycles for only 2/3 of the money a new one costs) and I am very happy again.

If they only cut off the bezels and put Face ID inside (together with the unsurprising A11X) I would not upgrade in the fall by now. The real step would be OLED and enough RAM to run ARM-based OS X with mouse support (maybe in a sandbox). With the standard renewal cycles that would be in the spring of 2020 earliest....
