Swiss Army Maverick II Alarm Watch
Same watch just different colours. Blue one has been delivered, black one just ordered. Wanted to make sure that I liked the first one. Good thing I didn't order both at the same time as I got a 10% discount coupon with it so saved more money on the second one :) This is the 4th swiss army watch I have

Hamster wheel
Everyday watch, especially now in the summer when I'm washing the car and out and about. Extremely comfortable, and the strap smells like vanilla when wet :)

Man, there seem to be a few fakes mixed in here. I've seen a few $10k+ watches too (holy crap!).

Picked this up around xmas but haven't visited the thread since then, just got done reading quite a few pages.

It's HUGE, but I love it.

It has a touch screen, and you can navigate it by swirling your finger round then edge of the face, like an iPod clickwheel.

I saw this tag heuer monaco and i had to have it. I'm not a big watch person but this isn't a watch it's a time instrument :) The watch band as an alligator band.

Well my graduation is looming and I have £400 in total from family members. I am going to add my own money in order to buy a watch in the £500-£1000 bracket.

I looked in several jewelers the other day. The only watch that I like was this:

5735750.jpg

(Omega Speedmaster men's chronograph automatic watch).

Unfortunately it is £1860, but it is the only watch out of nearly a hundred that I liked. My mum said that a watch like this is something that I will have the rest of my life so I should see if I could get it on interest free credit (they were offering 6,9 and 24 months and my credit rating is excellent). But on the other hand, I do not want to be paying £60 every month for two years. Which is a lot since I am working part time.

I've fallen in love with that Omega watch so I don't know what to do. If I save it will be over a year before I will have enough to buy it and even then I keep thinking to myself that it is so much money for something that only tells the time!

I'm not sure what to do.

I forget the name of the website, but there is a high-end watch forum and their classifieds section is very active. I'd go with a babied used watch, a legit one, with receipts, etc, etc.

I personally have a bit of a watch fetish. Omegas are absolutely wonderful, and you could do far worse. I don't currently own one, though-- I have a couple of Seikos, a Raymond Weil, etc.

My favorite daily companion, however, might surprise a bit. It's a Casio PAW1300T-7V solar-powered triple-sensor model in titanium. It has an altimeter, barometric pressure sensor, thermometer and compass yet is fairly thin. It syncs every night with the atomic time standard so is always accurate to a millisecond. I don't have to take it off when I swim; it's LED-backlit so I can see it at night, and it presents a graph of the barometric pressure for the past 22 hours so I can predict the weather. And it's good looking, and uncommon enough that you don't see yourself walking around every ten minutes. I feel no need to change it out for formal or business circumstances. And I'm a frequent flyer, and its ability to automatically set itself for different world time zones while still displaying the time back home is wonderful.

And though it's fancy for a Casio, it's still a Casio, and if I get mugged or something it's not the end of the world. Meanwhile it's comfortable, handsome, accurate and highly functional.

It or something like it is worth consideration, IMHO. But if you go Omega you won't hear me complaining!
