Yes, very odd. Haven't got a clue. pagesize is defined as

#define cols 45
#define element 12
#define pagesize rows*cols*element

Instead of asking questions all the times and having anyone guess because you don't give important information again and again and again and again, I'll ask you a question and I'd expect an answer from you, farmerdoug, and nobody else:

What _exactly_ happens when the macro "pagesize" is used in a program?

It's great that farmerdoug keeps at it, but, it's bad that the problem is alway that what's in his head is wrong and he won't share the real details that are in the actual code.

My guess is it's an attempt to take short cuts in dealing with other people. But the question is why and how to break him of the habit.
