Why can’t we reply to messages directly from Notification Center anymore?

I think from iOS/ipadOS 15, I lost the ability to reply to texts directly in Notification Center. I noticed awhile ago but just got around to posting about this. But I haven’t see anyone else talk about it. Did I just miss the discussion (I did a search with no results)? Is it just my devices? Or does nobody else care? I found it extremely convenient being able to address notifications (reply or archive or delete messages/emails/etc.) all while in Notification Center instead of having to go back and forth between NC and apps.

I’m not on 16 yet. Did the functionality come back by chance?

Oh ok, for iPad, it’s changed so you have to long press now to reply instead of swipe. Took me awhile to figure that out. 😏
