iPhone Why do all safari tabs just sometimes disappear and are gone?

Wow, once again hit with this issue.. can’t figure out what is happening. Device is now on ipad os 17, had ~ 200 tabs open last night when I put the device down to charge. Woke up today, ALL TABS CLOSED.. this wasn’t even a touch human error. Settings are clearly still set to only close tabs MANUALLY, but still to have everything lost gets really bothersome. It hadn’t happened in a couple years, and now it just pops up without warning.

You sure you didn’t just open a new window and the other window with all the tabs is there still?

Yes, I’m sure.. I never really ever open a window, I just go to Safari where everything is there and open.. maybe a .x security update processed.. no actual OS update though.
