If Samsung is artificially inflating it’s prices and then convincing their fervent fans that they are getting a great discount by overpaying.

Well it’s win win for everyone I guess enjoy.

Did you pay less?

Or did Samsung Just rip you off.

Enjoy your device. :)

You realised it finally :)......that how excessively over inflated iphone price is. Long live Apple...

Except iPhones aren’t discounted by over 60% during preorder...like you previously admittedly to with your note 9...

If someone doesn’t like their iPhone 2 or 3 weeks/months after launch they can sell it, it still holds its value, so not really a ripoff.

But you will never sell the note 9 close to retail or whatever you paid for it. That sucks.

Trust me if I purchased a Samsung Galaxy during preorder or at launch, I would feel just as ripped off as you clearly do.

Anyway enjoy your device, while the OP enjoys his.

If you’re in Apples ecosystem, it gets even better. The communication between devices is what makes the process more seamless to use and iOS bridges everything in between.
I like the fact that there is value in buying more Apple products. The more you buy the more functionality you get. That’s just something you don’t get with other companies.

It’s great that you can get the note 9 cheaper than normal retail value but not really a great sign there is a discount like that as kind of makes you think they don’t have much faith they will sell many at retail price.
No they have even been offering huge discounts in the Uk if you trade in another phone. Some phones they are offering £600 and the phone only starts at £889.

The phone is nice but Samsung seem a bit desperate.

The iPhone is a better long term investment if you want to keep your phone for a long time.

You will get software updates for up to 5 years and if you have issues with your phone you can take it to the Apple store and get it fixed.

Apple remember their older devices and try and make new products compatible as far back as possible.

I don't understand myself! Started years ago with the original, went to the 4, 4s, 5s, 6s and 8plus for a while. And a lot, a lot of androids in between. I know that for my preference an Android will do better (torrents, apk loading, closing apps after x time, widgets) but I always keep coming back! I don't know why I like the iPhone so much. Now I have to get another device just for torrents. Just sold my Samsung s8 (which actually is a really nice phone, just not an iPhone) and waiting for the new X. While I know that a OnePlus will fill all my needs.

Because using it reminds you of a cup of hot chocolate in front of a fireplace on a cold winters night. Visions of sugar plums dancing in your head. :apple:

From my point of view, you are constrained. If you don't buy apple, nothing works together for you.

Now, you tell me what doesn't work together if you are not on apple? My galaxy phones work nicely with all my heterogeneous equipment. Sometimes even better than iPhone in an all apple environment. e.g use files in a share drive in your home network. Or make calls and run any app in your phone remotely from any pc/mac. Or output video/mirror to my TVs without needing something like an apple tv pug

Samsung is desperate, we as consumers benefited. iPhone fans pampered apple like a baby with their wide opened wallet to the point that apple (in cahoots with the carriers) just happily fleece them openly :)

My kid nephews are still happily using my old S3 and Note2 from more than 5 years ago with latest apps/games. The iPhones from S3 era are just paper weight now.

Are you in the “ecosystem”? Mac user? I’m on an iPhone simply because it’s the natural extension of the Mac.

I think I did it backwards. I tried my first iPhone almost 2 years ago (7 Plus) and got hooked. I went from not owning a single Apple product, to now using:

- iPhone X
- iPad Pro
- MacBook Pro
- Apple TV (x2)
- Apple Watch

I think I’m stuck now. Everything just works so well together and I’m disappointed that I didn’t try it sooner.

Well, I got the note9 512gb for half the price of 256gb iPhone X (same contract plan).

Who really care about trade in price as I can get such huge advantage in price upfront.

And I got two iPhone 7's for free two weeks after launch through a deal with AT&T. My final payment then rebate is in September. Then I'll sell the iPhone 7's for more than $0 thereby MAKING money owning my iPhones.

Because it’s familiar?
