Then they should have named it something else besides Rosetta. ;) The name sort of implies that I can run an Intel binary on my quadra.

How about "The software that allows PowerPC code to run on Intel processors for Mac OS X" or "TSTAPPCCTROIPFMACOSX" for short? Is that better? :D

No offense to some but I am amazed at how people can't grasp the concept of rosetta. If it would worked the other way around as in intel apps on ppc, yay no more need for bootcamp or any other windows solution lol.....sorry guys that prize money you won was alot of effort for no purpose since Apple included the solution with Rosetta. Haha note the sarcasm

That's why this thread should be subtitled "the stupid Rosetta questions" thread - so people can ask all of their dumbest questions and get some answers to get a little better educated.

Not everybody was born knowing what Rosetta is. I only understand it because I went through the PPC-68040 transition - and that experience was pretty bad, and has turned me off to emulation in general. I don't plan to buy an Intel Mac until *all* my software is native. No way in hades I'm going to run my primary apps, Word and Excel, in emulation.

I found it quite pleasant actually. It was the best that could have been done.

As an aside, the 68k/PowerPC "FAT" apps were essentially 68k apps that had some PowerPC additions, varying from hardly any to almost two entirely different programs stored in one (and the "FAT" pun worked because the files were much larger than normal).

Is this the same with Universal Apps?

And, actually, Rosetta isn't even included in the PPC version of the operating system.
