Why do Nexus devices not sell better?

You guys are all wrong, the reason why the nexus brand doesn't sell well is because Google doesn't spend much on marketing. I remember when the original nexus one came out, it was far superior to the motorola droid, however, the moto droid far outsould the one because motorola put in a TON of marketing dollars to back it while the nexus one had hardly any marketing budget.

... that's what most of this thread is saying. Fast forward to 2013, the Nexus 4 is not selling b/c Samsung's constant barrage of Galaxy line marketing!
