Why do you buy Apple products?

Why do you buy Apple products? Be honest. I'll be honest, one reason is for the updates. Even though the updates are only good for about 2 years before they start to lag on old iPhones, the updates are unified. I hated the feeling in Android, that someone had the newest update, and I would be unable to get it for a few months (if I'm lucky). I suppose that I do care to have the latest and greatest, which brings me to my next reason. Apple products cost a premium. Some people ask why I spend my money on premium stuff like Apple and Beats, and even sometimes joke about it. In my opinion, the premium quality makes Apple better. I do not want Apple to be known as the cheap brand or even the value brand. The same with Beats, people always tell me that I can get a much better headphone for less. That is true, but it doesn't have the "value" and the more something cost, to a reasonable degree of course, the more people value it even if they hate to admit it. I despise young people that are driving exotic cars like Ferrari, but damn do I respect the car. Given the option, I would totally own that car because of the symbol in a sense.

One thing is for sure, I certainly don't buy Apple products for the specs .

P.S. I probably sound like a snob, or shallow, but remember this is an honesty post.

i like the integration with the other devices

other companies have the same thing but its never as fluid and easy as it is with apple

That is true. I have not used a software that had been better optimized than the software that Apple makes. Definitely grade A stuff compared to the competition. *cough* samsung *cough*. I'm a Note fan, but the software is not optimized as well compared to iPhones.

I switch back and forth between flagship Android and Apple devices. Going with the iPhone 6+ this year.

My reasons?

+Wanted to go back to Apple since it's been a few years
+Hardware (got so sick of the cheap plastic and rubber from Android... other than the HTC One M8 of course)
+Ecosystem (both personally with my macbook and wife's ipad and of course all my friends and family already having iPhones)
+Newness (is that even a word? I just like the fact that I'm gonna be able to try out Apple's first "phablet"... something just seems new and cool about that)

-I'm actually concerned about the software aspect. I really enjoyed customizing and getting new launchers on my Android phones. It really helped me tailor everything to my own personal needs, which I really enjoyed. Last time I had a iPhone, I did jailbreak it... and that was pretty cool. I imagine I'll do the same with the 6+ once all of that comes out. It's nothing in particular, I just get bored of the same ole stuff over time haha

The ecosystem part is really a driving point that a lot of people don't admit to. It's just convenient when everyone you know has the same OS and you can do things like Photo Stream and group text without an Android person screwing it up haha

At this point it's only customer service and the upgrade cycles. I have no problem with Android and really enjoy many parts about it, but I couldn't deal with having an OS that doesn't get updates and fixes immediately.

Ha yeah. I almost got the m8 but the lack of a fingerprint sensor was a deal breaker. The the HTC One line in my opinion is the only one (lol) that has been able to consistently almost match the build quality of the iPhone (externally).

The blue bubble iMessage is also a great reason. It just looks so sleek compared to what the other guys are offering.

I agree with what you said about Apple products. I just can't help but disagree with your statement on Beats however. You're really just paying for the brand. The build quality on them is inferior to what you can find on a set of headphones a third of the price. Same for sound quality, I could never justify paying $300 for a set of headphones with at best, okay quality. This is something I'm hoping Apple will try and improve upon in the coming years.

Back to your original question, I really like iOS because everything is so organized and clean. There are no file browsers available because the file management is so well done, everything stays within it dedicated folder/app. On Android phones it would always bug me when you delete an app and files and folder would remain on your phone. Thats not the case with iOS; when you delete something its gone. Anyway, I'm just OCD about organization and its something I believe iOS handles very well.

This is pretty much me entirely. Build quality of my note 3 is starting to upset me more too.

Ha yeah, I don't expect many people to agree with me on the Beats. I do admit, they can become better. The 300 dollars should be the wifi priced. Then I would have zero complaints. Hopefully the next edition gets updated with wifi instead of having to pay 400 for the wifi ones. Even I didn't pay 400 for that one, because like I said before, as long as its priced premium-ly to a reasonable degree. 400 for wifi headphones is not within a reasonable amount lol. Not for a college student at least...

I buy Apple products because I want them. They really fit my needs. Just like any brand, if it's good and works for me then I will buy it. When it comes to Apple products I've invested in a lot 3rd party software that it works best on Macs.


One thing that I've noticed is that there are a lot of people who just repeat what they've seen in a commercial. Those are the ones that buy stuff because it looks nice. Which is fine but they are the same one's who say you paid too much for a gadget. I don't see it that way. It's an investment. If I spend this kind of money on a product I want it to work and function well.

I buy Apple products because I'm a brainless Apple zombie who accepts everything they say as gospel truth and would buy an actual brick for $1,000 if they carved an Apple logo into it.

At least, that's what I've been told here, so I guess it must be true.

I use an iMac at work, I use a Mac Pro at home, I travel with a MacBook Air. I have an iPad. The ecosystem synergy is compelling. Apple sells an integrated whole and there's a huge disincentive to stray away from that for a single device. All I need now is CarPlay
