I don't have that power

I wasnt directing the "close this thread" comment at you. More the mods. They're quick to chastise someone for taking a tone with an obvious troll but they rarely do something about trolls themselves or to curb threads that are clearly turning into the played out iOS vs Android debate.

And let me clarify, Im not calling you a troll or saying thats what you intended. But its clear thats what this was going to turn into.

It seems clear that your mind was made up when you started the thread, and despite several people indicating such apps are not even needed on Android you still decided that iOS was what you wanted anyway.

True but I was open to re-shaping my view, however, I didn't find the answers to be accurate after experiencing a couple of Android phones myself and clashing them with the aforementioned answers.

Does anyone else share this view? Because I think it's totally true hence the creation of this thread.

Android is optimized for android. It's not made to run like iOS. iOS doesn't do true multitasking and treats it's apps differently. The problem is not the OS, but the apps makers in there crap way they make there apps. All kind of unintended problems on both systems stem a great deal from app makers not coding their apps right and not doing it right the first time. Something that is encountered a lot is zombie code leftover that should be removed from apps when no longer in use. Also the same can be applied with both the OS makers as well.

I've been using a Xiaomi for a while and it comes with a "cleaner" installed factory new. Unless you turn it off, it keeps bothering you every day to clear any not needed files in the system.

Probably because:

  • the android audience are often control freaks and it plays to that market
  • same reason some people think they need a memory cleaner app for macOS (they don't, but they misinterpret memory consumption numbers and assume they do)
  • a lot of third party android software is memory leaking garbage

This thread is perfectly reasonable, stop twisting and calling it what it isn't.

Hmm i have my mind pretty much made up. Used a bunch of android devices and been disappointed every single time having my experience with iOS in mind. I'll switch back to Apple soon and never look back.

that is a very good choice - the problem started already when you were looking apps to clean memory. something that is between your ears cannot be solved by apps.

Nah, you started to a thread that is essentially asking why cant android be more like iOS. And the thinking that iOS just "cleans itself" whereas Android needs cleaners is nonsense based on no actual facts of which you've provided none. Its fine to have an opinion, but if youre going to throw it at others at least have supporting facts.

I'm not throwing anything at you.

You're very welcome to not click the link that directs you to this thread.

But you are...you posted an opinion and stated it as fact. But have not provided any facts.....just your opinion.
Then it is quite clear you like IOS better and probably prefer Apple products all around. Great for you as Apple makes great products.
But then that means this whole thread was pointless and useless.

I was looking for reasons why a cleaner that has no use for the device is something that is engrained in the system and cannot be uninstalled. Haven't found them.

That's because your asking incorrectly

On Samsung devices the "cleaner app" as you like to call it has several functions and reassurances for the average user

It runs some checks and alerts of irregularities eg high battery usage

It can also be used to place your device in an optimal state before loading large or intensive apps for those that want that little bit extra and not just rely on inbuilt automated functionality or for those that want their critical app still to continue functioning, that may otherwise receive a lessor priority in extreme cases.

Unlike OS where you have little or no indication whats running including system apps etc, Android offers far more in depth information and control even from this simple (to android) native apps

These apps are not comparable to IOS lack of them because you are simply denied rights to view or even control at this level

As it has been mentioned before, ask Xiaomi as this is not a normal android feature.

Xiaomi, Huawei and Samsung all have some sort of Device Maintenance feature, be it called a cleaner, device maintenance or something else where you can clear the RAM, Internal Storage of junk etc... A lot like a PC cleaner.

I guess they put these things in for those people who want them, but you don’t really need to use them.

But this is the one I remember on Samsung’s, which is powered by “Clean Master”.

I often used the built-in cleaner if an app went rogue.

which is powered by “Clean Master”.
Which is owned/developed by one of the WORST Android developers out there - Cheetah Mobile (say "cheater" with a Boston accent and you get it). All those features are disabled on my Tab S3...
