not really. they are both instructions, have you read the warranty?
Yes, it tells you how to obtain the warranty and whatnot. Nothing about how to use your device.

Just so you know. When you erase the iPhone using the settings.app, it zeros out all the data so there is NO WAY you can recover any data that was on it. They added this feature because people were restoring their iPhone and selling them on eBay.. technically, the iPhone wasn't completely erased because there is still data stored on hidden blocks that can be tapped into using police software. Just like when you delete photos off your camera, they're not totally gone until they get overwritten with new photos.
I have a question. How come apple voids the warranty for jailbreaking your ipod? I realize it is a mod for the ipod, but it can't be that bad for apple, right? Ther're not exactly losing so much that they have to void the warranty.
Actually, Apple does lose money. Although most people don't jailbreak their phone to do it, jailbreaking does allow one to install pirated apps from the App Store onto one's iPhone / iPod Touch. If Apple didn't have a "punishment" for jailbreaking phones, more people would do it, thus more people would pirate apps = Apple losing money.

Unless Apple use diagnostic software to find traces left on the iPhone/iPod even after a restore, which I have read that is in existance.
Why must one jailbreak their Apple product?
I don't and I don't see any reason why I should or why anyone should for that matter.
