Its amazing after a few posts, most people fail to mention that this could be another version of pop up ads. Its called pop under ads and its meant to work in such a way that pop up blocker wont be able to block it.

Yes, I'm getting pop-under ads on that site where the ad opens up a new page underneath the current one.

P.S: Oddly enough, I dont get any pop up ads visiting that website. Only ads within the site.

Makes sense, there are a lot of those around these days.

Although, they are all blocked by Firefox because the script wouldnt be allowed to run in the first place.

Safari insecure? Yes.
Firefox insecure? Yes.
Opera insecure? Yes.
Windows insecure? Yes.
OS X insecure? Yes.
Linux insecure? Yes.

Can you find examples of all of the above? Yes.

Safari doesn't suck, but I have tried it on several Macs only to switch to Firefox immediately after that.

Why? Plugins.

Firefox + Adblock Plus + Adblock Plus: Element Hider Helper + Flashblock makes for a very friendly browsing experience.

The latest benchmarks between browsers show a good bit of development in all of them, but all the javascript speed in the world won't help you when 3 flash based advertisements load on a page. :)

Haha... irony!

If someone arguments that Safari sucks and to justify this lame statement throws a bunch of links from 2006, he is a troll. An uncompetent troll, I would add.

Try going to www.allsp.com, click Season 12 or any other season really then check Expose (F3 by default), there will be another window with advertising in it!

Sorry, there wasn't, and that site sucks more than the perceived sucky-ness of Safari.

There has been NO site that loads as slow as that one, it's terrible.

Either way, there are no pop-ups on my screen. NONE, nor the G5 and Mac Pro at my job, nor my MBP.

I have always been loyal to Safari but run Fire Fox sometimes

I don't know who could knock the reputation of Safari! I have always loved Safari, the only thing I can think of complaining about with Safari is until just a few weeks ago was the simple fact Apple provided no anti phishing protection in it.

But Apple caught up with the times finally. Back in the day I tried installing Norton Confidential because it included the anti phishing tool bar for Safari in Leopard. I would disable all the other garbage that came with Norton Confidential for Mac. The only problem was my quad started to kernel panic allot. I finally tried to read the panic log and at the bottom it finished with, "Norton Confidential" so that tipped me off big time. I deleted Norton and the kernel panics disappeared also.

I keep Fire Fox around because I have to admit there are a few things I miss from my p.c. days (Not much though so don't get the wrong idea). I like fire fox for the simple reason I can go to their website and change skins and find some cool plug ins for Fire Fox.

Any body wonder why Steve Jobs won't even let us change our skins for Safari? let me guess there is a third party software program out there that I don't know about, nine times out of ten there always is.

dang, I knew Safari is, and HAS BEEN AWFUL, but for 13 years now...

just installed Firefox AGAIN today!
