At my school we were cursing Apple yesterday. We are on a 1-1 program and the iPads for this year’s students are already at our facilities.

We started on 2016 and this is the first time the students will get the same model as the year before.

2016- iPad Air 2
2017-iPad 5th Gen
2018-iPad 6th Gen
2019-iPad 6th Gen
Poor babies. I hope they can find the strength to go on. 9/10/19. Never forget.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

?

I really don’t get your point. We were talking about Apple’s release dates and its convenience for school, weren’t we?

I don’t believe you were trying to make fun of kids that (just) in your mind were spoiled brats for complaining about the model of iPad they were getting, right?

On the flip side, didn't the 6th Gen have pretty much the same form factor as the 2017 model? Meaning cases were often compatible/easily sourced and charging facilities etc. were *definitely* compatible.

This model is different. If they released it next march, people looking at the bigger picture might shy away from ordering it. Releasing it now reduces the risks of ordering a bunch of ipads they can't use because suitable cases aren't delivered by manufacturers in time.

Well, that's true.

The difference in size wouldn't have bothered us, but I can see it being a big issue if our charging stations were different. Good point.
