The sooner people stop personalising these tech leaders.

He's a CEO, and one boring individual to boot.

So, basically this an anecdotal opinion combined with an Oxy-Moron. Read your top quote and your bottom quote. Clearly you identified your OWN post as an inadvertent Oxymoron, but Nice attempt at making a frivolous point you can't adhere to yourself.

Moving on from your biased deflection.

Or the fact that you don't understand manufacturing costs. It has nothing to do with "Tim" being cheap, it has everything to do with attempting to make an affordable product, in order to do so, they had to cut out specific features in order to make the price point desirable for those who want an iPad without the iPad Pro features. Nice attempt though to throw a Snark comment at the CEO.

Whatever. Tim is cheap and you know it also.

I love it when people reply to others on forums using big words thinking their vocabulary makes them sound superior; news flash, it doesn't. You just sound condescending.

I didn't personalise Cook, you clearly know that by personalise I meant those who seem to view him as some kind of celebrity or person to be looked up to like a many do their favourite footballer, movie star, or musician.

He's the CEO of a tech company. That's it. And your defence of him, as long winded, pompous and condescending as it was, is another example of EXACTLY what I was talking about. The fact I must have hit a nerve by daring to call Cook "boring" and thus launched you into such a staunch defence, says it all.

As his name suggests, he's relentless. Might as well stop replying to him.

It's likely partially due to product differentiation--but more likely a sign of a longer term shift in strategy for the iPad. Apple knows that there are two different markets for its products, average consumers and "pro" users. "Pro" users demand the latest tech, highest speed, best everything--and upgrade often to get it.

Average consumers don't care about that stuff at all, and retain their devices for years. AR coating on an iPad for an average consumer is irrelevant. They're either going to cover it up with a screen protector, only clean it once a year or both. Fully laminated display is irrelevant for the same reasons. It's a wasted feature on this product. Why not cut it and reduce the price?

The consumer targeted for this product uses it to play Candy Crush and check Facebook. The fastest processor is again wasted. Cut it and reduce the price.

In the long run I expect this, and a near future stripped down iPad mini to align with the iPod touch. Long refresh cycles, aggressive pricing and promos to satisfy a much less demanding consumer market--while Apple focuses innovation on the "Pro" models, which will likely differentiate even more over time.

Calling the Kettle pot black per se Coupled with hyperbole and a failed ad-hominem attack.

I understand Cook is the CEO of tech company and not a celebrity (Which I have no idea why you're even classifying him to be daunted as one), but I do admire his work ethic and strides he has made under Apple since Jobs passing. Boring he may be, but that doesn't exhibit who he is as a person or the milestones he has carried Apple to lengths Jobs never did.

Also, You didn't strike a nerve with me at all, so that would be another broad stroked opinion on your behalf, which is NOT a fact. Your post was called out in light of a you explaining, which lacked ANY substance with a noted deflection, so perhaps it's the other way around and you could better clarify yourself in the future which would make for a more useful discussion. But thanks for the discussion.

"Called out." Haha!

And the saying goes, "That's the pot calling the kettle black." You're throwing around words and phrases now which I doubt even you understand, in what has become some bizarre attempt at looking "superior" ... amusing, but ultimately boring.

I'd retort in kind by thanking you for the discussion as you did me, but there hasn't been any discussion, just a painfully embarrassing attempt by you at belittling someone.

I'll be sure to add you to my ignore list, that way I won't have to read your ramblings in future.

Good day.

I don't think there is one Android tablet that doesn't have a laminated screen or AR coating and those are cheap tablets.

Apple didnt put a laminated screen, apple pencil support and smart connector so they can upsell the iPad Pro to a customer who walks into a store and doesnt mind spending the extra money on the Pro. I bought the 2017 iPad as it is more than enough to fullfill my iPad needs, i.e. use as second monitor to my mac while I am writing my thesis, youtube, gaming, web browsing and book reading. For my usage, the iPad Pro would be total overkill and a waste of extra money I dont have to be honest.

It's the same AR coating. There are varying degrees such as anti scratch grades, but there is a reason Apple works with Zeiss Optical already.

There isn't defferientianting AR coating from optical to any other glass, or poly carbonate.
Dont u love it when the outsiders trying to educate the professionals?;)

The anti-reflective coating it the absolute worst product out there. At some point the coating will wear off leaving splotchy streaks everywhere. They don't use it on the phones. The best display was the original matte antiglare screen, which of course is no longer used by Apple.

I totally prefer the much more photo/magazine like screen on the iPad 2017.

Had iPad Pro 9.7 (screen damaged) and bought the 2017 while waiting for the new pro's.

Thing is, I prefer iPad 2017 with its screen and insane battery life. Cant "downgrade" on this by going Pro. Also, they did not fix bezels on the 12.9 inch pro. 10.5" is way too small for multitasking.

I see no issue to "fix" regarding the 12.9 display and the new Pro's have the same stellar battery life of the iPad in case you hadn't noticed.

I wish my iPad Pro 10.5 didn't have it. The screen gets fingerprints easier and is much harder to clean. Would've preferred better/more aleophobic coating like devices with non anti-reflective screens.

I've put a glass screen protector on now so it's easier to clean.

which screen protector are you using?

I'd like a 10.5 inch Pro but I also want a new iPhone to replace my 6S Plus. In the meantime I am content with my 64GB Air 2, the screen has been great.
