I use Google to sync my calendar and contacts on my Android, iPhones, Macs, and Windows. Have no issues syncing with the default calendar on my MBP.

If you adjust or make a new calendar item on your Android device, will it auto sync to your Apple devices?
Reason I ask; with my Samsung S7 its not always working

I've used Android since 2010 and only until recently have I used iPhones as a daily driver (2 years now). Apple needs to open up iOS more and become aggressive in their phone design department before I can truly stick to iOS. I guess the best way to describe iPhone/iOS is that it can get boring after a while but the phones and OS are reliable. I have a S8+ on pre-order but it's going to be my at home device while my 7 Plus will be my daily driver only because it's reliable, it's super fast (faster than the S8), I own Apple Watch and my wife also owns a 7 Plus which makes sharing between us easier.
But that S8+ is super sexy and will be a great at home device. It will keep my upgrade habit at bay until the next iPhone comes out in the fall.

Yes it should auto sync to any OS or Device that allows you to sync Calendar via Google account. Just make sure your sync settings are correct on each device, which is simple, and everything should work fine.

For example: If I make a new Calendar appointment on my Android phone. It will show up on my iPhone, iPad, MBP, and my Windows laptop.

Except, as quoted above, the person asking was asking about the iCloud calendar, not using Google to sync the calendar.

IMO, I would just choose Google and stop syncing Calendar via iCloud if your going to use sync services cross platform. If Apple updates it's iCloud service any differently(which all companies do every now and then), it might cause it to be unstable and who knows if the developer of that app will update in a timely manner or if they actually can.

If you want to use an Android phone with a Mac and an iOS device like an iPad just move to the Google ecosystem. It all works great together. As far as my calendar goes I use Exchange because I just keep one which is mainly work related. I use Google Music to keep my iTunes synced and if photo syncing matters to you use Google photos. Google takes care of contacts as well. I also don't need a very powerful office suite so Google docs does everything I need.

Easy answer: no current iPhone can emulate the experience I get on my S8.

I am realizing this almost a full week into the S8+

I will never use another laptop other than a MacBook, I am a cord cutter and love my ATV4, and love my desktop iMac.

But this screen, the design, the OS enhancements done by Samsung have really opened me up to a new experience and I am truly loving it.

That being said, I will without doubt be getting the new iPhone when it comes out and be on my way back...until the next S line is released. :)

If I lived on my own, I would cut cords. I am also not expecting to re-up with Mac in about 2-3 years from now when I upgrade my laptop. Gotta go with the Surface at that time too.

Yeah, hardware on the android side is nice. But after multiple flirtations with Android since this thread started, I'm firmly entrenched in the Apple ecosystem. Everything works well and works together nicely. I have no need to leave, except for gadget lust. But that's hardly a compelling enough reason considering what I'd have to give up in return.
