I have went to BB and they are pretty slick

Here is why I do not want one....

I fear if I get one, I won't use my laptop as much which would then make it feel as if the laptop was a poor purchase

A funny reason but one nonetheless lol

Though I may give in with this ipad 3g.......too cool

You will still use your laptop from time to time.

But thanks for letting us know.

You were absolutely right. iPad is so additive. It's been a month, and I still can't put it down whenever I'm at home. I haven't been able to get anything done, and my daughter and wife have been complaining a lot. My advice is, don't buy it!

So what you are saying is that the title of your thread is actually FALSE. You DO want one, you are just hesitant to buy one because you don't want to feel like you wasted money on a laptop, right? In that case, I predict you'll have an iPad sooner than later! You've already touched one... that allure you feel is not going to go away!

Besides, the iPad and laptop are not mutually exclusive. You may use the laptop less often, but the iPad does not replace it. Just think of it as choosing the right device for the occasion! Who says you can only have one or the other?

don't blame you.

If I had a laptop the iPad impact wouldn't be as great. In my cases I didn't have a laptop so the iPad became my mobile companion to my iPhone.

Do you have a desktop? If you do then yes you might not use the laptop as much unless the laptop is your primary computer.

I just got one this weekend! It's mind blowing! Most people wouldn't need a laptop unless they are doing video editing or something of that nature.

This thing is better than I thought it would be... and I already had really high hopes for it.

Why we don't care:

It's your money and you are free spend it as you wish.

Well you can still use your laptop to sync with the ipad and convert movies for your ipad. I have a 64gb but after the wow factor wore off, I find myself reaching for my macbook more often while i'm in the house. When it's time to use the bathroom I always take the ipad with me :)

Similar thing happened to me today at Home Depot. I feared if I bought a weed wacker I wouldn't use my lawnmower as much which would then make it feel as if the lawnmower was a poor purchase.

You're right Duke-ster. You will end up using your laptop like once a week. We've seen a ton of posts saying iPad owners' desktops and laptops are rarely turned on anymore. I kinda knew it would happen to me, but I still love using my Macs every few days.:)

Lol prob less as I use my desktop as my primary machine and my lappy for coffee shops, mobile situations which usually is music, web browsing and maybe some office stuff

that and i have an iphone and i pod touch

dagnabit apple lol

Typing this on my new 64 3G iPad. Succumbed at launch. LOVE it! But now I have your problem in spades. iBook and iMac lonely. Why did I buy a house? No longer looking at it. Should just move to a cave, because all I wanna do is play with this iPad.

that's why i sold my iphone... the ipad 3g is so much better to use for all the things i used my iphone for, except phone calls of course. but i still need a regular computer.

so now i have a regular computer, an ipad 3g and a cheap nokia candy bar phone for phone calls.

if att/apple/skype ever allow skype over 3g (along with background processes coming in 4.0) i'll ditch the mobile phone too.

You must buy one. Steve said so. He also said it's magical. Don't freak with the magic.
