I refuse to buy a car because I feel it would make my horse and buggy seem like a poor purchase.

One word... porn.

iPad screen is too small to truly enjoy it.

So, there you have it, a reason to still use the laptop.

Now back to the iPad...

I have went to BB and they are pretty slick

Here is why I do not want one....

I fear if I get one, I won't use my laptop as much which would then make it feel as if the laptop was a poor purchase

A funny reason but one nonetheless lol

Though I may give in with this ipad 3g.......too cool

My $2900 MBP has been a doorstop since 5:30 pm Friday, April 30th . . .

I don't understand the iPad.... I have an iPhone which can basically do more. It can make calls, recieve calls and do everything the ipad does. I don't need to choose between wifi or 3g, I have both... including a camera too.

So the ipad actually does less but has a bigger screen, right?

So why is everyone thinking its good?

Well...not sure you can say the iPhone is a legitimate eBook reader.

Wrong

Yes...the screen is bigger

Own one and you will find out, a little reading in this forum will also shed some light on the question too.

One word ... appleTV.

The only Apple product in my house that the iPad will never replace.

I have to ask . . . why is this a bad thing? It sounds as if the laptop was still a "poor purchase" if you are thinking this now. I'm not ragging on you, believe me, as I bought a Macbook Pro late last summer and now hardly use it because of my Ipad, but I'm not sitting around lamenting it. It's just an "oh well" type of decision. As I've said in other threads, if the time table were reversed and I needed to replace my computer now, I likely wouldn't bother - I'd get the Ipad and use my wife's Windows box as a home base rather than bothering with the MBP, nice as it is. I probably won't feel any need to replace the MBP for a long, long time because of the Ipad, that's all. Buy the Ipad if you liked it that much. You will probably enjoy using it a lot more than the laptop, if you're like me. I use the Ipad all the time and the laptop is "when I have to" - syncing with Itunes, CD ripping, etc.
