Why I get one word quotes?

I know I am doing something I just do not know what. Why do I get word word quotes like these instead of the whole post?

Happens when you have a word selected in a post. Will only quote the selected word. Happens if you click on "Quote" as in attached image or the "+Quote" button.

quotes
