This has changed, the S4 has been approved for Government use, more Samsung phones to follow:

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-205_162...sung-galaxy-s4-for-its-networks-company-says/

Sorry but I work for the government and no it has not been approved throughout the whole system yet. Believe the news all you want but I work in the IS department. Plus unless they fix the ways to break through the security then I still do not see it being secure. And that is what we see.

Because all the media outlets, online tech sites, and every other person reporting this, including MacRumors...is wrong.

Ok.

Yep, they are. Have a mod search my IP. I work for the government and posting from my desk right now. It is not supported yet period. It got "approved to be used" but not supported yet till it's reviewed and tested in house.

And just for reference sake...

https://www.macrumors.com/2013/05/0...eady-to-approve-ios-6-for-high-security-uses/

Right there on the bottom of the post...

"The DoD is also preparing to sign off on Samsung's Galaxy line of phones for similar uses."

BTW, I want to separate myself from the above poster. I realize this has been "approved for use", not implemented yet. But it's coming and that's what I believe we were trying to point out.

You work for the government in security yet your ip address is traceable by mods of a message board?

That wasn't the point. The point is they will be used soon. Approved for use means the government thinks they are worthy to use.

We can argue about whether ios7 is "approved for use" by apple engineers or not, but we all know it will be here soon enough. No point arguing time lapses.

All of that and that's all you can pick out?

Ok, even if you take the larger screen off the list, you're left with a pretty impressive list of things you CAN do on Android that you CAN'T do on iOS.

And I'll re-ask my question. What do you (any of you) consider a "gamechanger" on iOS?

Are you done measuring the length of your dick? Honestly, nobody gives a flying **** about that ****.

I've said it once and I'll say it again:

iPhone users USE their phone and Android users brag about stupid **** and **** with widgets.

Way to generalize.

Never used widgets on my android phone and always used iOS and android identically.

Both work fine as smartphones.

Wow. What an ill-tempered thread...

@OP: You really haven't given a detailed description of your experiences with the S4, Please update us once you have spent some time with it.

Interesting because you lambasted me for having the same viewpoint as you have declared here on another thread and suggested because I didn't want widgets to come to iOS, I didn't want anyone else to have the option. I never made that claim in the first place but perhaps I didn't elaborate enough to make things clearer.

I have used widgets on my Android devices and got fed up of them. I don't like them but if they gave you freedom to turn them off unlike many of iOS's principles, I would support the freedom of choice should they come to the iPhone. Android give you the option which is great and I like yourself ended up using my Samsung S3 much the same way as I do with my present iPhone. Now what is wrong with admitting that and why did I get criticised for offering my personal preferences as a suggestion? Very puzzling indeed.

lol calm down mate. Di you notice a logical flaw in bold?

I will explain.

If you don't want widgets to come to iOS, you don't want anyone else to have that option.

Wait, how?

Because there is no one else making iOS handsets.

So if they don't come to iOS, no one gets them, period.

I could care less if they come or not. I don't use them anyway. I am pointing out the logical flaws you keep making.

----------

I don't use widgets on my Nexus 7 either, they take up way too much room on the screen. You seem like the exception to the rule though.

The only widget i did use was dashclock on lockscreen (N4 on 4.2.2) simply because it gave me lockscreen notifications and it looks like a 100% baked in feature thanks to the strict UI adherence by the developer.

I would probably use a widget on nexus 7 though. The thing is, their "view me only" nature is not something i like. I want much more interactive widgets and all we have a resize-able windows to show content. If i want to see content, i can simply tap on an app and save my battery life.

There are much more sane reasons to use android (at least to me) than widgets.

I have clarified this in the other thread on two occasions. Are those people who want widgets to come to iOS wrong too because it forces it on those that don't wish to see them, just out of interest? I think masking your intent as pointing out what you perceive to be logical flaws in my argument is just a way of seeking a reaction. I think I have answered your questions and put to bed any doubt you had that my initial argument was flawed.
