For many reasons already listed and let's face it, they're just cooler.:)

Don't get a Mac, they suck. Macs can't even get on the internet.
This will be some fun.

Unless you get a headless iMac :)...it's still not gonna work. Gaming machines can get away with a mid-range processor, but a HIGH-end GPU (that's upgradeable). Tell me where in the lineup are you gonna see an affordable, <$700 solution like that from Apple?

As of right now, you got the X1600 (which is about equal to a stock 9800Pro). This is of course assuming you overclock the X1600 up to normal Pro speeds.

The question should be how long are you willing to put up with Windows?:D

I just made the switch on the 24th of April. I'm a long time Windows user, 15+ yrs. I made the switch for security reasons and as one of the prior posters commented, I'm sick of maintaining a computer, I want to just use it and not worry about those things anymore.

Windows and pc's were fun for a bit, I enjoyed the learning process, but security got to be a bit much in the past few years and I've gone from wanting to know how it works, to just wanting it to work. After using Linux for a short period I decided it wasn't for me.

I love my 20" Intel iMac, its my first experience with Apple. In a few days I've managed to get Boot Camp and Parallels working on here so I feel I have the best of both worlds. Long term I plan to find replacements for as many of my windows only apps as I can.

I don't think you'll regret switching Sunrobby. Worst case for me would have been, I'd have to sell the iMac. After a few days of use I can honestly say that won't be happening. Learning curve seems fairly easy, but then I'm used to doing things the hard way. In the words of some shoe maker I won't mention, Just Do It :D

You probably won't find one poster telling you to NOT switch to mac. About 99.9 percent of the people in this forum use macs.

Have you tried visiting the Apple Store? I almost bought a computer once I walked in there...
