I didn't say you had to do anything. Group messaging works for me, and it has on every Samsung device I've owned since 2010 (GS, GS2 and GS3).

It's an option, not a mandate.

You were off because you thought everyone had to give up on texting you and use whatsup - that's completely false. On android, your choice of SMS app doesn't mean anything to anyone else - unlike the iPhone, where you have Apple's SMS app and then other messaging providers (where everyone uses that app and their message system).

Ok, I get it. Thanks for the tip

This list doesn't take into account future updates that either device may have.

Hardware:
  1. Removable/replaceable battery
    - I guess I'm over with Nokia
  2. microSD card slot (total storage up to 96GB)
    - I can't consume my 16GB :\
  3. NFC (i.e. Android Beam, Google Wallet, NFC sticker customization)
    - Security flaw (http://www.redmondpie.com/iphone-4s...t-photos-contacts-and-other-info-compromised/)
    - In case you missed Bump app
  4. USB (vs. proprietary connector)
    - I don't need 'em
  5. LED notification light
    - I'm oever with BB as well
  6. HD resolution
    - http://www.displaymate.com/Smartphone_ShootOut_2.htm

Software: way too many to list, but my biggest ones:
  1. Google Maps/Navigation/StreetView
    - Yeah, iPhone's new Maps app svck.
  2. Free WiFi tethering
    - Why do I need to tether my WiFi? Maybe 3G you mean? iPhone has it too
  3. File sharing via any app that plugs into the open sharing API
    - Security flaw
  4. Ability to choose default apps for tasks/filetypes
    - There's always an app for that
  5. Chrome to Phone/Fox to Phone
    - Safari does a good job
  6. Free ad blocking apps (i.e. Ad Away and AdFree)
    - There's Restriction
  7. Auto-updating widgets
    - What are widgets for? Just plain curious.
  8. True file system
    - FAT32?
  9. Settings toggles
    - Hmm?
  10. Tons more from mib1800
    - iPhone has tons too.

iPhone owner's view. Not to intend flame.

+1 for stupid map app.

add another one on software: next (or next to next) android update may not be available for the current 'flagship' phones

I guess I'm happy with my no good screen on the GS3, no chart can tell me otherwise. My own 20/20 vision eyes are my best judgement. And that's a FACT.

mmm...actually, people like saturated color. that is a fact.
and thats why the siii screen looks good.
but it doesnt have true color reproduction which iphone 5 has (i dont own one and i dont care about it).
so, its all down to who u r and what u want.
thats all.

I sync my S3 just fine with my two macs and ipad using Dropbox / Google Drive. And I can't imagine getting back to iphone, but I guess it's personal. I moved for the same reasons. I like to change the way it looks. Couldn't be any happier :)

Really? You don't regret it? I am worried I might regret it!

I think it depends on the type of syncing. I only really move pics around so Dropbox is fine for me and in iOS 6 it's more integrated into the camera roll.

What exactly are you looking to sync?

I just set my calendars on my macs to sync with my Google account instead of icloud. I repeat, I suppose it's a personal question, but once I got used with Android and the nice size of the screen, I can't imagine using an iphone again. All my personal files are synced through Dropbox / Google Drive (pics, documents, spreadsheets). I actually prefer those over icloud to sync my stuff.

thanks for the reply. I guess I will get it and if I don't like it, I can return.

Oh, I heard the S3 lags after couple of months later, is this true?

Yes, you can always go back. I got mine in July 1st. There were some minor lags when using too many apps at once but since I updated to Jelly Bean I couldn't notice lag at all. Ps: I've got the international version.

Personally, I prefer the iPhone because:

1. It looks better. No plastic, no breaks in the case, etc.
2. It's the right size. The Samsung phone is way too big for a lot of people to use and/or fit in their pocket. I'm sick of seing people with their phone hanging half way out of the pocket of their skinny jeans because it's 8 inches long.
3. It doesn't have any gimmicky features. From S3 site: Most advertised features are:
- Direct call, so if you're texting and put the phone near your face it calls the person: Possibility for a misdial, and are people really too lazy to press the "Call" button at the top of the screen now?
- Smart alert, gives you notifications about missed calls when you pick up your phone: This reminds me of a microwave I bought a couple of years ago. It has some "Food waiting" feature where it beeps twice a minute until you open and close the door. Annoying as hell.
- "S" Voice, basically a Siri for Samsung: I'm not going to argue which came first, but who needs a Siri. Its much faster to touch your screen, you can wipe the smudge off later.
- "S beam", lets you share stuff when the devices are close to each other: This has been around forever, and really doesn't get used much. That's why Bump failed after a while, you can send a contact in a text message in the time it takes to establish a connection with a specific device.
- "All share cast", show photos on TV and control slideshow from phone: This might be useful, but I know I never drag people into my parlor, turn on the TV and all the audio equipment, make them sit down, and project images onto the TV when I want to show a couple of photos. If it's a presentation, sure, but then wouldn't you just use Powerpoint on a laptop? Plus, I can guarantee it only works right with their creepy talking televisions.
- Buddy share cast, share photos with contacts by face: Facial recognition in photos is old news. It's been included in iPhoto for years. This is a really easy software modification, definitely not worth a spot on the homepage.
- All share play (God, can't they come up with better names? I'm going to confuse all these things!), cloud network hosted locally on a computer: Data hog anybody? Plus, you're really not going to use your computer from your phone. Imagine using Outlook on a 4.whatever inch screen. It's not going to work.
- "Smooth, minimal design": It's got ports and buttons sticking out everywhere, not to mention the cracks and port covers that always come off after two or three months. Don't get me started.
- "Pop up play", superimposes a tiny video over your texting conversation: I want to watch the movie, and not in a 1x1.5 inch box. Your friend's latest farmville score can wait. You'll never be able to focus on either, and both will turn out badly.
- "Best photo", picks the best out of eight photos in rapid succession: I'm a photographer. I'd prefer to take and pick my own photos, not have a computer pick the one with the best brightness, contrast, whatever and trash the rest. One of the junk ones might have some cool lighting thing that adds emotion to the scene.
- NFC: I don't want my credit cards in my phone. Phones are easy to get into, especially with all their easyshareeverything stuff. If I want to buy something, I can reach into my back pocket and pull out a wallet. Besides, anyone who bumps into you might "accidentially" hit your phone with a scanner. Someone will make a scanner, there's probably already one on the underground markets.

Those are my main objections with the S3. It is a good enough phone, but Samsung really can't come up with anything to do with it to make it something worth buying. After all, when its main selling statement is "I'm not an iPhone" you know somethings wrong.
