Isn’t it weird that there is exactly one company who puts a lot of work into the design of their OS and all other manufacturers (Google, Microsoft, Linux developers) can only produce extremely ugly UI elements? Is it really that hard to make a great looking, minimalist but modern UI? Android looks like a children’s toy (and like a cheap one, from the dollar store). Microsoft looks like someone stitched together garbage and painted it over with a shiny color… Linux… well Linux KDE and Gnome both look unrefined to me. KDE looks like a worse version of Windows while Gnome looks brutish and unsophisticated. Are “good looks” just not important to the average person?

I don't agree about Android looking like a child's toy. Even Windows doesn't... but it does have inconsistencies and some old design/behaviors due to its legacy nature.
But even if you think that it does... how much does it actually matter? Function is more important than form. A pretty UI can be nice too, and certainly isn't objectionable. But it isn't a necessity - and probably isn't important to the average user.

Well, the name of their app manager is called “Google PLAY store”… I agree that a pretty UI is not everything and I can definitely work on Windows 11 without too much of a headache. To me, UI and design, even though I’m not a professional and don’t work in a related field, is very important. When I read a PDF and the author included pictures that are not vector- but simple .jpg files, I lose an ounce of respect for that person. The same goes with websites and their icons. Maybe I’m just too autistic.

With the latest OSes, I don't think Apple should be "casting the first stone" while living in "liquid glass." 😀

All Android oems have already copied Liquid Glass.
Even Samsung is copying it for oneui 9, and the rumor is the hardware is running into thermal issues because of it.

The reality remains Liquid Glass is apples new design language and every other smartphone oem is copying it or in the process of copying it.
At this point there really is no alternative moving forward.
Personally I love Liquid Glass and a large number of consumers do too. However there appears to be a tiny contingent of users who hate it. And yet there is little they can do about it.
The choice you are facing is harsh as there are no alternatives.

I guess I wouldn't know.
I tend to ignore stock UI elements with any system and seek to customize it to my liking any way I can. Out of all the manufacturers you name, Apple is easily the one company that makes customization the HARDEST to accomplish.
But if you're going to quit at the starting point I can't really help you.
