Why is my rep so low?

I know we've had a thread about people who don't say "thank you," but this is some kind of "thank you" to me. See if I help anyone with their HP printers anymore.
This is the first time I think the MR mods have done something really stupid. I know it's Arn's sandbox, but if we're going to implement a reputation system, shouldn't there be an open conversation first?
All I can say is... WTF?! I just noticed this today and I'm not happy. Reputations ARE a bad idea. If this is some sort of game or prank, I'm not playing. Please fix this ASAP. If this is for real and reputations are going to be a part of MR then I'm out of here...

It doesn't take as long as you think. But there is some suspense when you get close and you just want to reach 500.

Well, I think that's a tad harsh - especially in a thread like this. I meant no harm to them. Also I've never been interested in the 500 post thing.
