For me its mainly when i play music from the music app. it just isn't as loud as it was on 10.02. such a shame. I really don't see how they even had a need to touch the sound.
in the EQ setting, try switching to 'Late Night'

Doesn't that effect treble and bass in the songs too.
didn't notice much affect, if any, on those. it did fix (or rather made louder) the issue with low tones and alerts back in 9.3.5. I've made sure that has been selected ever since. figure i throw it out there as a suggestion.

yup. and noticeably louder; not just "huh...i think that's kinda sorta louder"
Hmm it actually is. Not sure about tones or keyboard clips but def music.

Can everyone in this thread submit the bug of sound being lower. Apparently people said it was fixed in beta 4 but it wasn't.

I'm able to reproduce the lower sound bug.

I submitted this bug report to Apple:

Summary: Background audio (music or podcasts) volume level reduces significantly when an app that has the capability of producing sound is launched and in-use. Background audio reverts to previous volume level when switching from app to SpringBoard or another app that does not have the capability of producing sound.

Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start audio app such as Music or Podcasts and set desired volume level
2. Switch to or launch app with sound effects or background music such as Pokémon Go or Scrabble
3. Observe reduced volume level of background music or podcast audio
4. Turn off option for sound effects or background music in app
5. Observe continued reduced volume level of background music or podcast in app
6. Switch to SpringBoard or non-audio producing app such as Safari or Mail
7. Observe volume level of background music or podcast return to desired volume level automatically

Expected Results: Volume level of background audio will remain unchanged while switching apps.

Actual Results: Volume level of background audio is reduced in certain apps that capable of producing audio.

Version: iOS 10.1 (14B72c)
