Why does the latest iPad Pro still have a headphone jack? Why is it still not waterproof? And to top it off where is the wireless charging?

Do you think it will be updated in the fall after the iphones?

News flash...the iPad and the iPhone aren't warranted against water damage by Apple even as the ip7/+ are IP rated.

Why should the 3.5mm jack be removed? Apple has showed no willingness to guarantee WR so it's a talking point more than an official feature (in my book).

Wireless charging will probably come with this year's phones...but I consider it to be a mostly useless feature. I won't use it. Ymmv.

I have seen some people watching Netflix in the bathtub so waterproof/water resisted is needed. Wireless charging feature would be nice if some place like Dunkin Donuts stores do not have AC charge on the wall.

You can be waterproof with the headphone jack.

They're pushing the iPad for productivity. There are many music apps and music equipment for ipad that utilizes the headphone jack. Also, space isn't a premium like it is in the iPhone. I doubt this tiny jack is using up any vital space.

As for waterproofing. It'd be nice, but not as needed as the iPhone. People exercise outside, walk around, and use their iPhones on the go constantly. It's exposed to water far more often (I would think) then an iPad. When you're mobile your iPad is probably in your bag safe with your phone in your hand. I doubt that many people use their iPad outside especially when there's a chance of rain.

A lot of people here don't live in high humidity climates like Florida.

I have had iPhones fail due to what the Genius's assumed was humidity entering into the charging port. The phones would display a message informing me that the accessory that was plugged in isn't compatible with iPhone, even though nothing was plugged into the phone.

This is just one reason water resistance is good for all electronics as you don't have to spill anything on the devices for moisture to seep into them.

I live right on the water in Jacksonville and never had a problem.

I live in Florida on the coast. I have never had this happen on my or any of the many friends and family devices I help with.

I'm not knowcking your experience, but I don't think that is the norm.

Go to Disneyworld and see how many people use their iPads as cameras. Simple fact is that iPads are being used in situations that water proofing could be beneficial.

Schiller made it a point to talk about how Apple has the courage to drop a 100+ year old technology in the iPhone, yet for the iPhone and Macs we still have it. Seems very inconsistent to me.

Heh, I didn't think if that.

I'm picturing many annoyed guests when their view of the parade is obstructed by a wall or 12.9" slabs. Have you dabbled in the iPad photography arts?

;)

Yes, it can be annoying and I'm surprised at how many people being them

Why on earth does a tablet device need to be waterproof and wireless charging really, might as well ask why MacBooks don't have wireless charging either.

Spills.

And Macbooks should be waterproof too. Or at least the keyboard should be spill proof.
