Of course you have to update iTunes, you expect to be running BETA software on your iPad but refuse to update iTunes? You need to be running macOS 10.14 with the latest version of iTunes + XCode BETA in order to update and restore iOS/iPadOS 13 BETA's. It's clearly stated in the release notes..

Otherwise you have to run macOS 10.15 BETA and do it using the Finder. Both works.

If you for some reason just have to have the old iTunes you could just connect a external hard-drive, take a Time Machine Backup. Update iTunes and install XCode BETA, or upgrade to macOS 10.15 BETA, do the restore of the iPad and just restore your Mac from the Time Machine Backup.

Complaining about unauthorised third-party tools not working, especially with BETA software is rather ridiculous.
Indeed.
And yes, I jump on the beta bandwagon by installing macOS 10.15 beta 1 and installing iOS 13 beta 1 to start the beta trip, So that I can keep using iTunes 12.6.5.
OS 12.3.1 is clearly better than all these 13 versions.
I hate saying this, but despite all posts from other members, you are claiming a BETA iOS is worse than an offical release software. This is such a stunning display that I am speechless for all your complains here. Also, even if downgrade path exist, it is dangerous to keep jumping around between beta versions of a major release. I lost a whole year of my iMessage because of jumping back to iOS 8.4 during iOS 9 testing. Granted, I did not use this fancy 3utool to do it back then, but stock app’s data can be upgraded during the process, and trying to downgrade will damage those upgraded data, making them unusable.

Another note is, Apple can intentionally break features in beta to zone out certain set of bugs and help fixing other bugs. Yes, they will break your app or feature on purpose during beta period. I don’t have any solid confirmation to back this claim but you should get the idea.

I cannot help you in regard of 3utools or anything similar, but like other members, I strongly suggest you put down beta expectation and stop playing around with beta versions. It does not worth it.

I couldn’t downgrade via iTunes. I kept getting an error. I guess I could go to Apple Store but for the most part Beta is working out fine for me. So I will just stick with it.

Well, this is it. I am stuck with this crap until a new version comes along.

3UTools can't do a downgrade to any of these listed:

12.4 beta 5
12.3.1
12.3

I was able God knows how to do a downgrade to beta 2. But this beta isn't being listed anymore for this software.

And iTunes says firmware incompatible even if I try to load the beta 2 IPSW.

So I'll wait for a new version and hope they fix this issue.

Then how about forgetting this beta 3 exists and start correcting all pending problems from beta 2 onwards?

It's taking too much time to fix an issue that if left unchecked will render the iPAD useless at least to me.

My fear is that the final version comes along and this problem is still not repaired.

We can expect anything from Apple these days, this company is totally incompetent and must be run by monkeys and clowns.
You are stuck because you installed an update meant for developers to test their apps. You obviously show a lack of knowledge in terms of how beta testing and beta builds work. Just cause they fixed no bugs from beta 2 and break more stuff in beta 3 doesn‘t mean these bugs will exist in the final build of iOS13. They‘re called betas for a reason, they push experimental things all the time and it can very well get worse even up to the final beta. The price you pay to be on the bleeding edge.

I advise you to take your darwin award and wait for the next beta... and pray it fixes the issues you mentioned.

I haven't gone through all of the replies, but it's super easy to downgrade back to iOS 12. I made an encrypted backup on iTunes from my iPad on iOS 12, installed the iPadOS 13 on my IPP, played around with the software for a couple days, then reverted back to iOS 12 using my iTunes back up. Pretty simple really.

The issue here is he was hoping that tool thing can let him move from versions to versions of iOS without losing all data, which is simply not the case for such a major release. And then he complains about Apple breaking stuff in beta 3 instead of constantly improving it, showing his lack of understanding of how beta testing works. Now he is in a dead loop.

He also expects 3rd Party, unauthorized tools to do it. He expects known piracy tools to assist him, and for Apple to make those piracy tools work. (Please don't say TweakBox isn't a piracy tool.)

In other breaking news, the iPhone XS Max is a better device than the iPhone 4
Ah, but when the Xs Max was a prototype on Jony Ives' nice wooden table in Cupertino with wires sticking out all over the place, the iPhone 4 was the better phone. Just like iOS 12 is currently a "better" [operating] OS than iOS 13 currently is.

It just isn't going to stay that way...

We are on the brink of a final iOS 13 release and you guys don't want me to compare these beta fiascos with iOS 12?

I am glad I returned to iOS 12, because at least in my IPP 10.5. things were far from smooth. Not sure if could have been better with a clean install, though...

And if you know another method of installing a beta without 3uTools I am all ears.

We are no where near being “on the brink” of release for iOS 13. We may not see the GM until end of August or beginning of September, and that leaves plenty of betas ahead. This thread is ridiculous and so is the OP.

I am wiling to bet, that MOST people in here, did NOT use 3utools to install it. Why would you use that to install the beta? Why not do it the normal way, like everyone else.

If fixing this error means updating iTunes then I will not fix. I need to use iTunes 12.6.5.3 to not lose this:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/ios-13-beta-3-―-bug-fixes-changes-and-improvements.2188318/page-19#post-27515936

And the lightning cable is OK and it's the one that came with the iPAD (so, it's original).

I was going to try using iOS 13 beta 2, however 3uTools now doesn't offer it as a firmware anymore. I am still trying to find a place where I can download it.
You jump right into an major iOS early beta but you refuse to update iTunes and still want to use the old program.... Its just illogical to me and you just created your own problem. If you can't downgrade, its just your fault.

Windows world using iTunes is a bit trickier than on Mac OS X when installing a single support package would allow devices to be connected to iTunes even when iTunes itself is in older version. But, if he opens iTunes setup package using 7-zip, theoretically he can extract those msi files and install the one to update without installing a whole new version of iTunes. I am looking into it but yet to get the chance to try it out.
On the other hand, his action of using 3utools is, um, a bold move at best.

Brink? You cannot even wait for two full months? Oh wait, we have passed June already in the form of first and second beta. So yes. And two months is nowhere near “brink” no matter how you spin it.

I'd laugh if this post wasn't so sad.

10 weeks gets you 13.0 and we've never seen a . zero that didn't need a couple more updates .
I'm sure 13.3 will have all the bugs squashed! In a year.

Here is a list of Apple-approved tools to install beta software, as a refresher:

- Xcode beta
- Finder/iTunes (depending on your version of macOS)
- Apple Configurator beta

Using third party software is not warranted and violates the developer terms.
[doublepost=1562971497][/doublepost]I will admit, with beta software sometimes a downgrade is in fact impossible. I’ve had this issue at least once every beta cycle. Just have to wait for the next seed.

But surely you didn’t use a mission critical device.......

And I’ll add...if one of the approved tools didn’t work then nothing will. Just update the device in recovery mode to the next seed and then restore back to 12. Sometimes that will work. It can be weird.
