Although the iPad probably would need a larger vibration motor (or maybe two iphone motors), I think it would be nice for news alerts or whatever. Also, if i am in a work meeting, I would like to know when i get an alert without interrupting the meeting.
Posters above say that you would only now if it vibrates if it is in your pocket(which u obviously cant do with an ipad) but u can hear vibrates still so why not have it on the ipad.

Also, WHY NO VIBRATE ON THE iPOD TOUCH?????

I can't really come up with a reason on why I'd want my iPad to vibrate. Its not a phone that I carry in my pocket. Different uses mean different configurations imo

The vibration motor would have to be far more significant than what the units you can cram into a phone or small tablet. With Apple trying to bring better vibration motors in their iPhone I doubt they would be happy with a simple one in an iPad.

They will have to include a taptic engine if they do 3D touch which im sure is coming sooner or later.
