In front of my MacBook Pro
what sort of an additional driver would i need?

You don't, he's telling you that Windows is unable to read or write to the Mac part of the hard drive. In other words, unless the IT department has gone through a lot of trouble for the sole purpose of annoying you, you can not have a screenshot go to the Mac OS X part of the hard drive... it has to be in your clipboard.

what you are saying is that you are running windows nativly (meaning the computer has booted up into windows). Then you say you cannot take a screenshot and paste it to a document.

This sounds quite strange to me. If you take a screen shot it has to go to the clipboard, unless for some bizare reason the clipboard isnt working.

Can you cut and paste text or images between applications (eg between word and excel)?

This 'mac side' and 'windows side' stuff is a red herring I think. You state you are running windows from bootcamp, hence the 'mac side' does not exist as far as the computer is concerned.

Perhaps the keyboard shortcut (for the mac keyboard) isnt actually taking the screenshot at all?). Can you install Infranview (or ask IT to do it for you if you do not have permissions)< and then use that to grab the screen.

If they wont (or cant) help - you can run infranview directly from your usb drive (no need to install it on the computer).
snippet from infranview site:

Q: Is there a portable IrfanView version (for USB sticks, CDs etc.)?
A: Yes, EVERY IrfanView version is portable. You can:
1. Copy your existing/installed IrfanView folder to USB stick (recommended), or
2. Use the normal installer and install IrfanView to an USB stick folder, or
3. Use the ZIP version and unzip to an USB stick folder.

go to http://www.irfanview.com/ and get infranview and give it a try (what have you to lose at this point (use the screen capture facility inside infranview itself and not the key command you've been using in Windows)

Hope this helps because I have nothing else....

I am totally confused as to what is actually going on and what you are really trying to accomplish so I'll add to the confusion... If you are coding in VB write code to read and process the clipboard contents!?!?

I had to read this thread in it's entirety, as I too have had issues with running an PC emulator, but it does work. It's just very temperamental and not as forgiving as the Mac OS. If there's one file out of place on the PC side, your in trouble. He would of been better by not starting with an insult towards Apple, and further more having a signature like that will not do well in a Mac forum.

Then you should reread the thread because the OP is not running Windows in any sort of emulated environment, he is running it natively.
