I got a feeling the OP is just bored because of the lockdown and wanted to start some sort of topic here as he has done so and watch people reactions.

I have never drop my iPad and it’s very slippery, at least the back. And I take it by one hand from room to room many times a day. I actually don’t have a phone (no need, I am retired, no family, but I plan to buy an iPhone 12 mainly for the cameras). I don’t understand why so much people complained of dropping their iPhones like there is no tomorrow... I also have a small Sony recorder. Never dropped it. It seems to me that tou can have a very solid grip with the iPhone compare to a one handed iPad...
Ah, I see what you did there. very smart. You cannot drop something you don't have. :D

Pretty hard to drop an iPad when you are using both hands and you baby it. But seeing as you just came here to troll people who are less anal retentive than you are, I’ll bite.

When you spend your pennies on the newest iPhone when it is released, you will soon discover just how easy it is to drop a phone. Being that you are nearly two days older than dirt you should probably invest in a case for that new phone.. your supreme coordination will soon start to fail you, as you progressively age.

Stop showing your age! You’re making us high tech old geezers look bad

You remind me of someone who’s overconfident in their driving abilities because they have “never been in a wreck and have been driving xyz years”...

Your past experience of not dropping a phone has f*** all to do with the next instance of handling your phone. It only takes once. And believe me, if/when it happens, your perspective will change.
And if anything, the naked phone being so slippery makes me more nervous, so I feel more likely to drop it.

EDIT: And the same thing applies to driving and holding your phone. You can be "perfect", but you can't control others.

I tend to believe MOST phone drops are due to carelessness, just like most car “accidents” are really just crashes caused by misbehavior of the operator(s). I can count the times I have dropped my XS Max in the last 15 months on one hand. My wife drops hers daily. We both have otterbox defenders and alpha glass screen protectors. Both phones look new when the protection devices are removed. The real question is why people use $1000+ devices without any kind of protection on them. Like they are not mobile devices that will see some abuse or “accidents”.

It depends on the person. I rarely dropped anything when I was younger but now it happens. If you know you never drop anything then don’t use a case. Obviously some people drop phones or there wouldn’t be a dedicated repair service to fix it. I’m not sure what the OP is asking other than saying he never drops stuff

This is like those threads asking “do I really need a screen protector?” Not to be disrespectful but kind of a pointless/common sense thing.

I had never been sitting on an airplane and the door fly off on a hard bank and be staring directly down at the Persian Gulf, until I did.
