My MacBook Air with the M2 is lightning faster than my previous Mac with the i5. Why would a iPad need the M4 chip? iPadOS is not as powerful as MacOS I don’t understand.

My M1 Pro started to choke on the following:
  • Around 1200 pages of notes.
  • Around 48 layers in Photoshop and it starts to crash
  • Around 20 layers in Procreate in high res canvas
  • Around 70 layers in Artstudio Pro on a 64MP canvas
I can deal with it but I decide to just sell the old iPad and get a new one when it comes out. It's a working tool and tax deductible. Basically its free and has high resell value. So, why not enjoy the newest and latest?

Far better user experience for YOU but not ME and MANY MANY others that post here (not everyone but a lot of people post about their enjoyment) ha ha

Seems like you might be happier over on the Samsung forums where people enjoy those devices to be with people that have similar interests to you, instead of bashing a device daily that you don't even HAVE or WANT on this forum where people post on here about their new iPad and are enjoying it geez...... ha ha ha ;) LOL

I like ipads but that's about it for Apple products. I use a Macbook Pro M1 at work and it's little annoyances here and there in Mac OSX just reminds me why I don't own a Mac anymore.

The OLED on the new ipad isn't anything special anyways. I bought the S9 Ultra 2 days ago at 25% off and the screen on it is just as good. And this thing came out 10 months ago and was $600CAD cheaper than the M4. And far better user experience on it too.
Except it’s too big to easily use as a tablet

I don't know if I would call it too big but it takes some getting used to. The experience it gives is second to none though. I likely use it more in landscape. Im still in the process of finding my use cases for this device and only 3 days owning it now, Im already starting to see what they are. I just got an awesome kickstand case for it, it's built like a tank. It also costed me $150CAD, it wasn't cheap. Watching content on it destroys the ipad, no more black bars, there is no going back. It's like a movie theatre screen in the palm of your hands.

Taking notes on it is an experience for sure. I will give Apple credit, I prefer the feel of the Apple pencil in the hand as I find the S-pen too narrow for my liking. But the feel on the glass, I find both equally satisfying. Maybe a bit more for the S-pen as it feels more natural but the Apple pencil tips don't wear near as fast as the nibs do on the S-pen. And Ive never had any gripes about the plastic to glass feel and sound. Tablet experience, it's darn tough to beat what the ipad Pro 11" gives. Im just such a fan of that size and form factor for pure tablet use.

Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s an amazing device. Video is indeed much better with that aspect ratio, but portrait mode is definitely less usable. And I prefer more square devices for productivity (like a spreadsheet- it’s nice to be a bit taller and view more).

Can’t compare the pen as I’ve not used it. New Magic Keyboard is definitely better compared with Samsungs solution.

One thing I never liked about Samsung tablets is that they seem much more reflective, unless they fixed that. They also used to be much dimmer but I know the S9 ultra fixed that vs the S8. Still not as bright as the iPad Pro though I believe. I have a bright terrace where I work a lot so thode are important downsides for me.

Biggest reason I prefer the iPad pro is ecosystem / continuity. Universal control is the killer feature for me that I use on the productivity side with my iMac.

This tablet will benefit from the new snapdragon plus / elite chips because it’s definitely less powerful than a M4, not that most people will notice, but some games will definitely start to see a difference I think.

Even in the Ostia simplier, there are some apps that benefit From the faster cpu, final cult, Logic, Affinity and so on.
The OS in one number in the equation.
