I just can't resist the temptation to ask this, please choose most important reason, the one that you think you can not live without.

I switched simply because of OS X and to pin it down even more, Spotlight. I absolutely hated Windows Search that much. Plus, no more, Spyware, etc or viruses and more importantly, no more having to MAINTAIN it. That was such a waste of my time.

70% Mac OS X.

10% Design.

10% Well tested, fairly uniform hardware which makes the OS run even better.

10% Price. Not just hardware cost, but total cost of ownership.

Where's the "I was pissed off reinstalling Windows and decided Apple couldn't be worse" option??

The first time I saw OS X I was shocked by its simplicity. I went back to my Windows box feeling left out. It took me a while to leave Window and I am so happy I did. I have a house fully of Apple products now and anything running Window other than my Xbox are not allowed in my house.

I came over for Final Cut Pro six years ago after getting completely frustrated with the PC side solution at the time.

Come for the Pro Apps, stay for the experience™

The glowing apple on the MBP screen.

loved them since i first saw them on the PB G3s.

In all honesty though, it was probably 65% OS X, 25% design, 10% value, and another 100% apple :D

i like apples...so why not apple computers....nawww j/k actually my family has always used mac since i was reaaaaal young....so yea...i don't think i ever "switched", using windows at school, and at friends' house was awkward to say the least

The stability, security and user friendliness of Mac OSX.
The integration of Mac OSX with Apple hardware.
The quality and productivity of Apple Pro Applications.
Knowing first hand, just how awful someone's computing experience
can be working in a Windows environment.
Looking across the desk at my 8 year old G3 that is still working perfectly.

i really just meant to figure out the most enjoyable mac features that a PC DOESN'T HAVE,
I knew you guys didn't buy mac based on one sole reason, i just want to know the most attractive thing about a mac, say, for example,
"if OSX were to be released for PC", would you buy a pc with OSX?
or
"if a pc is designed exactly same look as a mac, (I know it won't, just for an example)" would you buy it?

I bought a Mac for OS 7! (Still have the install cd's) and I stayed because I have sense...and Apple's OS has always made more sense than M$...:D
