Apple Music Whyyy can I not add a song to my Library without turning on "Sync Library"??

I did nothing apart from turn on Sync Library!

Those christmas songs aren't on your phone and if you go to "Downladed", they will not show there. And if you don't see "Downladed", go back to "library" and tab "Edit".

Okay but they still play when I shuffle my songs..? I just don’t want them to play at all unless I check them!

But if you go to "Downloaded", they don't show there and thus they can't play, even if you shuffle the songs. 🤔

Oh I finally understand!!!! Yes that does seem a good workaround, and I can still add stuff from Apple Music to my library and download it!

Make a playlist without those songs and press the shuffle button on your phone's playlist or tell Siri "Shuffle *playlist name* playlist". Still, I agree that it would be good to control what part of your master library syncs to the cloud.
