Widgets behavior in iOS 15 - are they alive yet?

So, are widgets on iOS 15 the same static boring thing like they are in iOS 14?

I'm especially talking about the fact that they have system-wide limitations regarding refreshing frequency. Any improvements or changes in this area?

I whish we could interact with them the same way we used to with the old ones in the notification pane.
