Well my Mom is funding this one and she is totally against 3G.. Personally I won't really need it, I have Wi-Fi on campus, and Wi-Fi at the house.. I won't really need 3G when using it, only for goofing on during class which is counter-productive... some buildings don't have Wi-Fi, but they are all pretty close together... atleast I get mine on April 3rd, and Spring Semester ends May 21st!

Why compromise?

My short answer is: both. I'm a big fan of the AppleTV as an "ultimate" home stereo, and I now use my iPhone and "Remote" app to control both music selection, volume control and mute throughout my entire home. Being able to control my whole home audio is one of the things I like best about my iPhone. With the iPad wifi I plan to have it serve as remote control/photo frame/web browser in the media room while I take a second IPad 3G back and forth to the office and on trips. No more having to carry my MBP 15" and power supply every day!

iMac at home, MBP at the office and iPad with me always. Perfect.

I'm indecisive about which one to get? If I have 3g on my iPhone, should i get it on the iPad?

screen size and processing power are the limiting factors of the Iphone, that's why i got the 3g iPad. Besides 4.0 and multitasking should be pretty sweet on a 10 inch screen..do a little work editing, pdf reading, while streaming Pandora, all around good times...
