Wifi iPads wont get full 4.0?

Thats what it sounds like to me from all the reviews. Only the 3Gs iPhone and brand new iPod touch will get the full 4.0 features like multi tasking. Sounds like Wifi models across the board will be left out. Thoughts?

No, it sounded like the iPod Touch 3G is getting it and that's wifi only, so I'm sure all iPads will be getting 4.0.

Why do you say this? Did you read something somewhere?
 
The iPad better get multitasking in my opinion. Personally I think multitasking would be best on the iPad compared to the iPhone and iPod touch. It would allow you to use the iPad much more efficiently and more like a full functioned computer. But that's just my 2 cents.

I think the delay is because there are some coding issues and situations with the resolution that is plaguing the 4.0 from getting to ipad sooner.
 
The ipad would have to get the same version with multitasking as the 3g version b ecause other than the 3g chip its same everything...

To clarify:

- iPhone (1st gen) and iPod touch (1st gen) will not be getting iPhone OS 4
- iPhone 3G (2nd gen) and iPod touch (2nd gen) will get some OS 4 features but not multitasking.
- iPhone 3GS (3rd gen) and iPod touch (3rd gen) will get the full OS 4 features that the iPhone (4th gen) and iPod touch (4th gen) will get.
- iPad Wi-Fi and iPad 3G will get iPad OS 4.0 in the Fall.

For the smaller iPhone / iPod touch: if it's 1st gen, no OS 4. If it's 2nd gen, some OS 4. If it's 3rd gen, full OS 4 features. Apple will probably have some features saved for the 4th gen..

Maybe you should do some fact finding before you make silly false claims? That his my thought on this subject.

Just like third party had to adjust or recode it's iPhone version to iPad version. Or the apple had to update the existing Os to 3.2 for the iPad. The iPad requires the extra pixels and thus the iPhone 4.0 would be recoded to 4.1 or 4.2 version for the iPad. That is why there is a delay!! Come on people, think!!

The delay is because the iPad OS programmers busy trying to hit a release date, whereas the iPhone OS group was busy working on 4.0. Now the iPad team needs to get up to speed.
 
They'll bring out 4.0 for iPod and iPhone probably along with 4g iPhone this summer then will bring out 4.1 for iPad perhaps along with iPad 2g in the fall ( I can't see why else they would wait so long to release it) If you notice iPad currently uses 3.2 whereas iPhone uses 3.1.

Who said that? All iPad will get OS 4.0. The reason 1st Gen iPhone/iPod get no OS4 is because of slow processor. Even 3G is not fast enough for 4.0 that's why no multitasking. iPad has the fastest processor so far unless Apple releases new iPhone with same processor.

Where did you hear these reviews? The only reason why the older versions of iPhone and Touches arent getting 4.0 or the full 4.0 is becuz of unsupported hardware, and of course apple's promoting their newer hardware
 
iPad 3G and Wifi will support full 4.0 features... why the hell would Apple not support their latest product with their latest software?

Better question, why would one version of the iPad get the update, and the other wouldn't....
