The fastest way to transfer files is by doing a drag and drop. Take your SD card, insert it into your computer. Drag all of the files over to the program of your choice.

I keep an SD card reader plugged into my monitor that is connected to my 2018 MBP, and when I need to, I simply slide the SD card into the reader, and drag the folder of files to the desktop. After I've verified that all the files are fine, I then insert the SD card back into the camera, format it and then am ready for the next shooting session. I never connect the camera directly into the computer; if there is ever a glitch, I'd just as soon it be in an inexpensive card reader rather than in my camera!

If the OP wants fast transfer, taking into account everything (like removing the card and working with it on the computer) then consider tether transfer via USB cable and/or wifi. Newer cameras like my Oly, as I noted, transfer over AC wifi so it's not instant, but I don't have to do anything and it happens while I'm setting up another shot, etc. And I don't trip on the USB cable.

Both my Canon and Oly allow for designating a folder for the images to go into. I don't use Photos, but you can set up a folder action so that any new images into that folder would be auto-imported into Photos (Hazel can do that IIRC). Photos doesn't do tethering like other photo management applications do, unfortunately.

The closest you get to being specific is “most cameras”. In all the comments you’ve made in this post, nowhere do you note what manufacturer, let alone camera model you’re referring to. I recall this from another post of yours so I'll assume, till told differently, you don’t have a camera aside from a phone and you’re basically trolling. Again.
