Cool, that's a great use for something like optane. Not consumer like you say, at least for now. I might have to think a bit on how I may take advantage of something like that.
It's very expensive.. We only use it for mission critical production servers, it only comes in High Server requirements as in.. 1TB RAM +

I understand that, and we definitely don't need it now, but it does give me a couple ideas on possible future projects should things change a little. RT manufacturing monitoring with a database back end is one possible such project.

And you still wouldn’t have macOS on that computer. That’s the major differentiator between a Mac and a Windows computer. Oh, and the better quality of Apple parts.

Yeah, SSD slower and overpriced in comparison with, for example, Samsung SSD 990 PRO.

Ohh and also crappy sound card, most gamers sound card smokes any apple sound card.
