If you actually took time to read the pafe you would have read:

This graph shows the percentage of new performance once the drive is completely full.

Once the drive is filled completely with information. What I said was:
"The slowdown occurs if the drive is trying to overwrite data that was deleted. This is what TRIM is for." The drives on the page you linked are trying to use free space... the entire page is on TRIM actually. So thank you for proving my point (once again).

I don't know why you're even mentioning TRIM, given the lack of OS X support for it, it's irrelevant to all of us here with SSD's in their Macs.

There is plenty of evidence that keeping some space free improves performance, especially due to garbage collection which is used by many OCZ drives.

I didn't get any more informed, because everything you wrote supports my statement. Maybe you need to read more of the ports on a thread before you post, I don't know. The OP is getting a device with a sandforce chipset so which has TRIM support and is the best option for OS X users.

So no, he doesn't really need to worry.
 
60 GB SSD is enough for the Boot Drive. I use a OWC 60 GB SSD in my 2009 Mac Pro, moved my home folder to a WD Black Cavier Drive, It has only 29 GB on it and it is really fast.
 
Doesn't TRIM just prolong the inevitable block overwrite problem?

Plus there's the (small, but inelegant) expense of giving cpu resource to a background software-driven allocation controller?

Surely any benefit of trim support becomes moot pretty soon.

Anyway, on topic. I recently bought a 60GB ssd (corsair F60) for a boot drive. I don't plan to use it for basement storage so it should be plenty.
 
Well I went with the 60GB, and glad I did. I have only added 20GB to it so far with all of my apps and the OS.

Here are some benchmarks from XBench. Im stoked, this thing is awesome.
