well, it seems that the OP started a poll/thread in the special interests section titled: " Is anybody beginning to personally dislike Jobs? "......and guess what OP voted?

so it seems that he's not only against the app store, but also steve jobs, and i assume by extension apple. makes you wonder why he even has an iphone and even comes in here

how he can "personally dislike" jobs is beyond me. disagree with jobs' ways of managing apple or its products, i can understand but personally dislike him without knowing anything much about him is just silliness, and a bit creepy.

so have you downloaded any apps since you made this thread?

No. Nothing new has been launched that I want.

I made two polls this is true, I don't care if people agree with me or not but wanted to gauge sentiment amongst members. It seems more people dislike Jobs as a percentage than are willing to boycott the app store.

I love laughing at these silly threads... even though I've made more than one myself no doubt :D

Anyways... leave the complaining about app-pulling to the developers who worked so hard to make those apps just to have them pulled without reason, both because it's more their problem than yours and because they probably have more of a chance of doing something, though personally I don't think anyone has a chance of getting their app back on the store. We may not know what Apple's reasons are sometimes, but they aren't going to just pull random apps because they feel like it. I have a feeling they're going to simply integrate podcast downloading/updating into the mobile itunes or whatever.

It isn't so much that it is my problem but I avoid the app store so that I don't contribute to more outlandish sales figures in the next keynote. The app store isn't hard to avoid when cydia is out there. I am as selfish as anybody else and would not limit myself just because sometimes I feel let down by the "platform" of the phone I chose.

I don't think punishing the App Store developers is the right way to go about voicing your displeasure with Apple. Keep supporting good apps so people keep making them!

I think that the ideal solution would be a selling mechanism for Cydia or Installer apps. That way, there'll be good levels of continued impetus for development of Pwnage, and developers can sell whatever they want to Jailbreakers without censoring.

The only app I've ever paid for is Spore; that's the kind of app I want developed and am willing to pay for anyways. So I (obviously) would not boycott the store because Netshare got pulled.

While I do disagree with others that say you are not within your rights to boycott, I will not be joining you. If anybody should be boycotting, it should be the developers (and some do). A consumer boycott won't really get the message through, especially considering...well...you couldn't organise it big enough.

Well said, and I agree 100%.

I actually disagreed with Apple's decision on the fart app and Podcaster. I wouldn't get either one, but that's beside the point. Regardless, I won't be boycotting.

No -Apple has to excercise some scrutiny and stop some inappropriate or just plain stupid apps. There is too much rubbish there already so they have to be tougher in my opinion.
'
The signs are that the bigger developers are coming to the party which will bring some quality, REAL quality, apps.

Sorry there are enough fart makers , stupid rulers, torches, spirit levels, email my position to someone.

Good luck to all the developers big and small but don't forget we the users want quality and wev'e had enough of searching through piles of mediocre apps.

With the latest little front page article just thought I would see if sentiment has changed any.

seriously now ryan, if you really dislike the way apple is doing business, why just boycott the app store? why not put your mouth where your wallet is and put your device on ebay and walk away from all of apple's products, now and in the future. without any apps on your iphone, you just have a mobile phone and quite frankly, there are much better mobile "phones" out there than the iphone.

however, with the apps, you won't find a better device out there............regardless of how you fee about apple
