I personally will have no need for both my Spotify and Pandora subs once Apple Music launches.

The free ad based service is Spotify's trump card. If Spotify can only convert 20-25% of their users to a paid service, Apple is going to have a real hard time. I think they'll catch either new users to the streaming game, or paid Spotify converts. Free users will still choose to go free.

I'll see what it's like (and what music is available) in the three-month free trial. If it's enough like Spotify (I just want to search for an album/artist and play everything) then I'd probably switch.

I personally have no intention of canceling my Spotify subscription to make the switch to Apple Music. I will certainly make the most of the 3 months free Apple gives us, but they will really need to blow Spotify out of the water for me to even consider switching.

It is actually so predictable. Everytime Apple launches a new product someone starts a thread which says that they will kill off existing products. Example. "Apple watch is suppose to kill of Luxury watch makers like Rolex."
This is just another example of the same.
Yes I'm sure Apple will take over the world one day with Apple houses, Apple cars, Apple appliances, Apple supermarkets, Apple trains, and Apple everything.

I won't be buying apple music, I'm actually trying to use less apple products to as not be stuck in their ecosystem...

Well I got a free year of Pandora One from a Fiat contest so I'll stick with that until that expires and use the 3 months free of Apple Music, but otherwise, I've never paid for a streaming music service. I own most of the music I listen to.
And that is what I do now.
I hate ANY types of content streaming services, although I watch Youtube much than before. (due to Government block)

Whether they are free or not, whether how much would they ask to pay for, since all are based on Streaming services, I would barely consider purchasing them.
I hate streaming contents. I can use private cloud to stream contents on the go. But if contents are located on such cloud, I don't agree.
Internet is not a safe box. Everything stored on it will eventually disappear, whether after a second, or after several years.

I'm moving from Spotify to Apple Music.

$14.99 for family plan and integrated service. It may not be exactly the same, maybe it is but for the price I'm moving over. I'm sure I will find its fine for me.

It'll make a HUGE dent in Spotify. I can't tell you how many people I know who know nothing about technology are legitimately excited for Apple Music. It's surprising even me, an IT Director. I know that I'll be switching over. I've been waiting for years to integrate my iTunes/streaming libraries.

That's said about nearly all apple products on this forum. I don't know a single person who's switching.

Unless Apple offer a tool to pull in my Spotify playlists, I won't even be trying the trial. For the same prices & hassle of switching a service that frankly works great, I just don't see what the incentive is. A free three months isn't worth the ball ache it'll be to switch over, especially then if you then want to go back.

What about the integration with the OS? "Hey Siri, play ...."

I'll give it a try.
I'd be very keen on switching, however, there's one thing that I must see happening first...

Sonos integration.
Without it, we'll be staying on Spotify.

I am. One less app to deal with and it being integrated with my current collection makes it an easy win for me.

I'm moving from Spotify to Apple music for at least the trial period. The reality is, the fact that Apple Music is the default will be enough for some people.

I certainly will be cancelling my $14.99 a month subscription to spotify for a much better service with way more songs and better playlists. See you spotify. Hello Apple Music

Its probably fair to say that Apple have a their work cut out, but I can see a portion of those with iPhones and Macs switching from other paid music service to Apples.

I'm with my other half on this though. The music I want to listen to is varied, but not varied enough to pay a monthly subscription. I buy when albums are released that I really like. For everything else, there is youtube... I have the free basic Spotify, but it often sits open and untouched in my dock.

The problem is that the free users are a drag on Spotify's profits, as they lose money on them. As said already here, all Apple has to do is start taking over a good portion of the people willing to pay, and Spotify will go out of business.

We currently subscribe to both Spotify and Beats. I prefer the Beats UI and recommendation system, so I hope that they keep all that's good about the current system and improve it in the (many) ways necessary. If that happens, I'll just have to convince my wife to switch from Spotify to the Apple Music family plan. Either way though, a $5/month savings isn't going to make or break us!
